"No Kovu." Simba said as he entered the den. "It's only when you raise them wrong, do they actually turn bitter and cold like that. Rafiki told me...that Scar was bullied, and the only sanctuary he had was in the den with his mother." Simba explained. "You have to show how much you love each and every one of them Kovu. Don't turn a blind eye on any of them." Simba said with a small smile, though his eyes looked very fatigued.
"You're right as always Simba. I just have this...weird feeling you know?" Kovu said looking at the cubs again. Simba laughed.
"That's your fatherly instinct. It's telling you that bad things are going to happen, but when your cubs get old enough you should trust them enough, and don't smother them." Simba said quietly looking to Kiara. He had made that mistake, and he wanted to let Kovu know so he would not make the same one.
~ In the Desert ~
Shwari followed after Zira, not complaining once that his paws were tired, or that he was thirsty and hungry. He just followed without a word after Zira like he would his real mother. Every now and again they came across a dead carcass or perhaps a skeleton of a dead rogue. Fear was bubbling in Shwari when he saw the remains. They made him fear that he would be an addition to the many desert graveyards that he saw.
Shwari sighed as they finally got to another Oasis, quickly running up to the pool of water. He looked at his reflection, and in the time that he had traveled with Zira he had grown just a little, his tuft growing black as well. He smiled as he dipped his muzzle into the water, and began to drink. When he was finished with his water he looked to Zira, waiting for her to say something, or bark an order at him.
