Theories about Nuka, Vitani and Kovu

Well, I know we've all got our own ideas, if just like to sure mine.

Nuka: is the son o Zira and Scar. Was born very close to the end of scar's reign.

Vitani & Kovu: twins. Children of Zira, but not scar. Scar was going to have Zira mate with another male, because Nuka was horribly skinny, but got got killed, etc. He had already told Zira his plans for getting an heir, therefor she trained Kovu, not Nuka. Conceived around the same time as Kiara, maybe a little before.


I know this is brief, but I'm sort of just skimming the top of it. But those are the main facts.

I know it's your theory and I respect it, but officially, Nuka is not Scar's son. Simba's Pride director Darrell Rooney cleared this up:




Because Zira is a follower in the final version of the film, she cannot be the mate of Scar because the filmmakers wanted to avoid incest playing a role in the story. Now, I won't actually take Rooney's words about Kovu being an orphan because Zira does acknowledge Kovu as his son in the film.

Now, here's my theories:

1. Nuka, Vitani, and Kovu all share the same father. Their father is an unknown Outsider male. Have you ever noticed the Outsider pride has 12-14 lionesses with no adult male lion? In reality, all lion prides have at least 1-2 adult male lions protecting the pride. So what happened to this Outsider male? My theory states after Scar allowed his pride into the Pride Lands, Zira, his mate, started admiring Scar for his leadership qualities, and the Outsider male got jealous, and made threats at Scar. Wanting to get rid of him, Scar had the hyenas run him out of the Pride Lands. Nuka was already a cub by this time, and Vitani and Kovu were born shortly after.

2. The Outsiders were a foreign pride from another kingdom. After their kingdom droughted, they migrated into the Pride Lands, where Scar allowed the pride into his kingdom. Because Scar had no respect for keeping the Circle of Life in balance, he allowed the Outsider pride to consume whatever they want alongwith the hyenas and the Pridelanders. Because of this, the new pride became immediate devoted followers of Scar and his ideals, although their presence further dwindled the food and water supply. The issue with the father happened, and Zira became the new leader.

3. Vitani and Kovu are littermates, but Vitani was the oldest of the two because Zira confirmed Kovu was the last born before Simba exiled them. Scar chose Kovu as his heir because Nuka proved to be physically weak, and Scar felt the Pride Lands needed a strong male to carry on after him so Vitani was out of the question.

Well, those are my theories, and I think they line up with the characters' personalities seen in the sequel, what was said and done in the two films, and Rooney's vision of what he envisioned Zira to be. However, my theory falls short of where were the Outsider pride when Simba returns to reclaim the throne. My theories do not provide an answer for this, so I need to brainstorm some more.

I personally believe that Nuka is the son of Zira and Scar. Scar saw that Nuka wasn't worthy of being his heir and disowned him. He got rid of Zira as his queen and Nuka as his son. Zira, whom I believe would still be a fanatical fan-girl/follower of Scar. Would take out her anger on Nuka and blame him for everything that's happened. All the while trying to find a way to get her position as queen back and give Scar everything he wants.

Zira then leaves the pridelands for an unknown ammount of time to find a suitable, strong mate. She ends up finding Chumvi and Tojo who hang out right outside the borders. ( I think they would be kicked out as young cubs because they're technically a future threat to the throne. ) She seduces Tojo and concieves Vitani with him, she leaves him behind and heads back to the pridelands. After a few months she gives birth to a girl and starts training her to be strong and tactical in hopes of impressing Scar.

Meanwhile, Chumvi, his mate ( an outsider from Zira's pride ), and baby Kovu ( newborn ) are sneaking around one day to meet each other. When the hyenas patrolling the borders take notice of them and attack. They kill Chumvi, and kill the outsider as well. But before they kill Kovu, Scar hears the commotion and goes to see what is happening. Since he's an oppurtunist, he takes Kovu in as his son and gives him to Zira ( the only mother at the moment with cub ). I personally think Scar wouldn't be disappointed with Vitani but I don't think he would accept her as his heir because she's a female. Nuka is to weak and Kovu is exactly what he needs. ( Kovu is about a month younger than Vitani by the way )

I think the outsiders were a foreign pride from another land that went through some kind drought/fire/whatever and found themselves in the pridelands. I think they came to the pridelands a few weeks before Scars plan to kill Mufasa.

But this is just my self-canon. I can go into far more detail but I don't feel like typing up a lecture.

I know it has been denied officially that Nuka is Scar`s son, but here are my theories.

I do quite like the idea of Nuka being the only cub of Scar, because he fails so bad. It would also explain some of the resentment Nuka has for his younger brother. My theory is that although Nuka was born to Scar and Zira (assuming for a moment that Scar mated with several lionesses in the pride in order to secure his genes and produce heirs.. NO, that does not include Nala..) Scar chose a different cub to follow in his pawprints - Kovu. We`re talking theories here, but Kovu is not Scar`s on. Maybe Scar thought he saw something in Kovu that Nuka was lacking, maybe he thought Kovu looked like he`d grow up to be a strong, cruel leader? Zira does mention that Scar handpicked him to be his succsessor.

Another of my theories: Vitani and Kovu are littermates, but their father(s) is a rogue, none of them are Scar`s cubs.

So my THEORY is that Nuka, Vitani and Kovu are all Ziras, but only Nuka is the lovechild (if you can call it that) of Scar and Zira.

About Scar and Zira:

Do I believe Scar loved Zira? No, I do not.
Do I believe Zira loved Scar? In some kind of twisted way, yeah.. Though I do feel it was more admiration and obsession rather than love, I don`t feel like she had a "crush" on him, more that she looked up to him as her king and leader, and that she admired him and wanted to be by his side because that would gain her a high position in the pride. I think Zira wanted power and control more than anything else, and that was more important to her than love.
