People like that gives us christians a bad name.

Totally agree with you there. I do not class myself as Christian, but my family are and they would NOT say anything like that, EVER. Yes, they may not agree with homosexuality, but they'd never say something like that, nor publicly make it know they don't like it. Some people need to realize that not all Christians are crazy and over the top.

I am thinking... I should turn a light on, typing in the dark is not easy.

I think we can safely say that the church is anything but a Christian organization. It's not christ-like at all. People do not need church to believe. And they certainly do not need the Pope... I think Jesus would be pretty disgusted by the church as it is today. Many don't realize that Christians are meant to follow Jesus. Not the church nor the Pope.

The church has been corrupt for centuries. It's quite sad. If only the corruption in the Roman Catholic church was fixed. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying everyone is corrupt.

Why my mum and her side of the family still support the Catholic church and the Pope, I'll never know. It's things like the above that make me scared to come out to my own family as bisexual.

^ I'm a Christian and proud but I don't understand why people of the church hate on gays so much? I think it's fine, love is love and you can't choose who you fall in love with. Some people are unbelievable. Isn't the church about accepting everyone for who they are? I'm so ashamed of the church these days.

The church isn't about that. True Christianity is, and I mean TRUE Christianity.

The thing about religion is that everyone interprets it in different ways...and thus, you get these people forcing their crazy beliefs on others and claiming they're justified by God's will or whatever, when there is NOTHING in the Bible that really supports their opinion.

To keep it simple: Don't judge a religion by its fanatics.

I agree 100% with that. Churches these days have gone so much astray into corruption. I am completely sure if God would ever judge the whole world (which I believe he will some day) He will certainly NOT go easy on the church, neither on the so-called ''christians'' that have failed to show good fruits as TRUE followers of Christ. Jesus even warns in the bible that not everybody who calls him ''Lord'', will enter the Kingdom of the Father.
