But none of the people who voted "no" said you, I, or anyone else was immoral. We are quick to call them immoral when really, let's be honest for a second here - we are just as immoral if not more so for condemning one who simply shares their views in a pretty respectful way.
I was reading topics here and on another forum at the same time, so I guess someone there said it was immoral, and I didn't double check. I do not mean to condemn anyone who does in fact share their views in a respectful way. Even though I dislike their opinion, if they are respectful about it, I usually hold my tongue. However, I do know for a fact
that one member did not state their opinion in a respectful way, and it's things like that that make me snap; I have been holding in that rant for quite some time, but I think I am quite through bashing people for it at present.
That kid is 13. That only proves the amount of indoctrination that is involved. Forcing biblical or quranic nonsense down their children's throats. If kids want to be religious, let them choose when they can. Forcing beliefs on kids is wrong. Most Christians are not Christian because they like Christianity so much. They are Christian because the emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Holy Roman Empire. If they were born in India they would be worshiping Krishna, if they were born in classical Greece they would be believing in Zeus, if they were born in Denmark in the time of the vikings they would be believing in Wodan and Thor, if they were born in central Africa they would be believing in the great joo-joo of the mountain. People have a certain religion by pure chance. I might have been Christian if I were brought up in another place at another time, or if I had had indoctrinating parents.
Children are very sensitive to this and once the damage is done it's almost irreversible. People are brought up Christian or Muslim or Hindu. They do not choose to be one. Less than 2% changes religion or actually has a free choice. Indoctrination is actually one of the only reasons it's still alive.
You shouldn't take it that seriously (I mean that in a personal matter). We should take it serious in global terms. Most of them don't know what they are talking about and have never read their holy scriptures critically. Modern civilization clashes with ancient beliefs and the product is a lot of moral confusion which actually harms society a lot.
My advice to you: Kill their ignorance with knowledge, reason and moral philosophy.
