You know why you're told not to use anti-bacterial soap at home, because bacteria are becoming immune to it? (superbugs) The biggest misconception about evolution is that it's a theory. It's one of the very few things in science that are proven to exist.

And seriously, why would you care about another person loving another? All species have gay members. (Yes, ALL). We are no different.

A person should be with who they want, and no law should get between that.

Well, here's the thing: I'm definitely not for it, but I believe it is fundamentally wrong (plus it takes all the hot guys from society). I don't hate anyone, I just believe some of the things they do are not morally or ethically correct. I just wish people wouldnt be so selfish and see that what they are feeling at the moment affects more than just them, EVERYONE needs to acknowledge that fact.

People do what they think God wants, or they do some blasphemous thing and stamp Gods name on it, but the thing is: nobodys perfect like God, thus, no one can do exactly what God or Jesus would do. What humans do in Gods name has nothing to do with God.

Now on evolution, here's my simple argument: evolution is based on the fact that some thing exploded and created matter, etc. but think logically, there would have to be something to explode! Where would that come from? There would still have to a god or a deity or "creator" of some sort.

If I end up having a same sex marriage/civil partnership, I'll have to just deal with the fact I'm not going to be accepted by everyone. I do believe in God (Roman Catholic) but not everything they believe in (and this is partly why I can't come out to my family, my mum's side are strong catholics). I'm Pro-Choice (abortion) for example. Like I've said before, I'm completely for gay marriage and always will be.

Ok, here's where I sort of agree. AdAstra is the one who enlightened me to this idea. What if God caused evolution? But yeah. I still believe in the theory of evolution. Don't want to go off-topic thought so I'll leave that there.

Woeler1 wrote:Second, you confuse the big bang with evolution. Science has already outruled god. We don't need god in science. And yes something CAN come from nothing. The concept is called random quantum fluctuation in a false vacuum. God has no place in science.

Actually, science has NEVER disproven the existence of god. Absence of proof is not proof of absence. Repeat this to yourself until you finally understand this properly. That being said, the reason you don't see god in science is because adding a god makes science useless. Religious people already figured everything out - God did it. Science simply ignores a spiritual being that can do anything for the sake of finding the simplest model that fits what we see. It doesn't say God doesn't exist, just 'let's ignore it so that we can solve this problem in an understandable way'.

And again - God never said that the Earth is 4000 (not 6000) years old. A book written by people said that.

And along those lines - never let a book tell you what to believe unless you can prove it as a working model for whatever it preaches.

Right here. It's not "God isn't real", but we all know what you're implying.

What science does prove is that God is not needed, never has should have been needed and never will be needed. Look at where science is getting us! Better healthcare, better living standards and better prospects for the human race in places liK space. And you know what the reason is for all of this being able to happen? It's that scientists don't simply say 'Oh, it was created by God.' so that they don't have to understand why everything's here! Scientists look for reasons to explain our existence that can be backed up with evidence.

Take evolution, for example. Darwin found out that on every one of the Galapagos islands, the same species of finch had adapted over a period of time so that they could survive on the islands. It was survival of the fittest and it still is now. Isn't it quite mysterious that by the time humanity developed the ability to record things in the form of pictures and other things like that that God/Jesus has never been seen or heard of on Earth? Yeah? That's because there's nothing truthful to write down about religion. It's only the figments of people's imaginations and showing it to the world now (which is full of a ton more scientists than a few hundred years ago) would cause it to be quickly disproven by science.

And don't even get me started on String theory! And if everything had a beginning, who created God? And who created the creator of God? And who created the creator of the creator of God? It's an endless circle. So unless anyone has any solid proof of God or Jesus being here, then science is only going to keep getting stronger and stronger. As Woeler said, it isn't humanity that's the problem; it's God.

Honestly if they can't get married they will still be together. I honestly do not care what happens either way. They will still be together if it doent work out. All people should be happy.

Has anyone here heard of the Log Cabin Republicans? They are an LGBT group that is endorsing Romney. Thoughts?
