Do you think TLK is the best movie of Disney?

My chemistry teacher (who is very likable) even agrees with me that TLK is the best Disney movie too. Now that is awesome!

Until about a year and a half ago, I was under the impression that the Lion King was one of Disney's less popular films. I don't know why I thought that, but I was pretty damn wrong!

I love the Lion King, and have done for almost my entire life. Not only is it my favourite Disney film, but my favourite film full stop. I don't know why, but I don't care. I just can't get enough of it. To me, it is absolutely flawless, and when people say bad things about it I get pretty angry (exhibit A: Comfused Matthew)

My sister and I were discussing Disney movies and which were our favourites. She said hers was Hercules, and I said that although I like it a lot I think as a film it's just ok. Her reply?

"That's cause you're a Lion King snob!"

I actually find it funny now but not so much at the time. Do people just assume that because TLK was so successful that the fans think they're above every other Disney fandom?

I believe that attitude is known as "it's popular, so it sucks." So yes, there are in fact people who won't like thing simply because they are popular, and don't want to be views as a fan among a legion of fans.

One of the best, even if I find things that i cannot help but nitpick upon (i.e. no real Sarabi/Mufasa interaction, no Simba and Rafiki moment, no extended Nala scenes especially as a cub).

I will proudly admit to being a snob on account that most of y'all weren't even alive when it originally came out!

I discovered the beauty of voice acting because of LK. I (re)discovered Elton John because of LK. in fact, I was taking piano lessons at that time and one of the songs we learned was Circle of Life and CYFTLT.

Seriously, LK was an EVENT that went on well into 1995-1996 even. CYFTLT was a single in its own right.

I believe it is. But I also I believe it stands at (or if not, very near) being the best traditionally animated movie of all time or in the world. TLK is very unique in it's own way. Especially and I think more importantly, the characters. Take a look at the two meerkats below on my signature ; The feelings, emotion, and moral values shown by the characters are very moving to me sometimes. These things are different from the rest of what Disney makes and is one reason why I like it very much. And the fact of the matter is, you don't have to be a fan of Disney in order to be a fan of the LK universe, you know.
