Those things are not intended to kill with. Guns are. Guns are a bad thing, and it's a shame that it's too late for drastic measures. Reversing it is impossible. It is a shame indeed it had to come this far.

Indeeed, wouldn't that pretty much conclude this subject though? That accidents happen and there is nothing that can be done? Unless we are still on about whether guns should be allowed or not, cause in that case I believe I gave my views in an earlier post x)

I think it basically comes down to this.
Guns kill. Killing is bad. Guns have been allowed in the US. Its too late to do something. We have to live with it. We can condemn it or love it but at the end of the day people die because of it and people live because of it. Sport, job or protection. Views will differ over different countries. Guns stay guns, and guns are weapons. Whether it is right to own, use or buy a weapon depends on the morality you practice. Some say killing a killer is right, some say it isn't. Some say you shouldn't fear thy neighbor, some say you should. Life is life and death is death, a weapon can make the difference. Choose a side...

Just because you don't know how to use a gun, don't bother to learn about proper gun safety and attitude, doesn't mean that you have to force everyone else not to be allowed to have them. Especially if they are willing to learn how to be responsible with firearms.

Gun-control fanatics love to point out that there is plenty of crime where there are a lot of guns. In reality, it's the other way around - there are many guns where there is already lots of crime, as people get guns to defend themselves. This is also why you can have places like Switzerland, where just about everyone have a gun, but crime is low. Guns don't increase crime or death.

So if someone tries to storm my house, I would like to know that I can use something to give myself an advantage, thank you very much.

Iiiinteresting... after a little while of thinking too much, I think crimes that aren't gun related (in this case, "burglary") might be the root of the problem. Cause this kinda causes guns to come out, and blah blah if there wasn't any crime we wouldn't really need guns... pardon me for stating the obvious x3 wow, Bryony actually said something that wasn't pointless xD

Neither does it increase the deaths in Canada. So tell me, why does the US have such a high gunmurder rate? And no, drugs is by far not the only thing. And swiss goes by 49.5/100 US 88.8/100 so yeah there is a big difference.

No matter what happens, and as much as I'd want this, there's no way that America is going to outlaw owning a gun because it'll just cause even more problems; there are already a hell of a lot of weapons out there and it'd be nigh on impossible to get them from people.

I guess everyone pays for their mistakes, including countries...

You mean like when the gun murder rate in Washington D.C. tripled? After the place implemented some of the toughest and most restrictive gun laws in the entire nation?
