Jela glared at him. "This isn't my first wound and I'm not some cub to be babied. But I did agree to let you come, I'll look for shelter while you hunt." She stalked off angrily, wondering why she had agreed to let him come. Then she remembered: if Renako hunted her down and tried to take her back....
She shook away her concerned thoughts and inspected a cave a little ways off.

He sighed with relief. He was sincerely worried- that wound looked septic. He refrained from mentioning it- it would make her more worried. He walked alon with a new bounce in his (painful) step. He saw the line wildebeest. It didn't hear him. Deaf probably, he thought. He launched himself at it. It was an easy kill. Now to drag it to Jela. It was lighter than he thought. Then he remembered he was smaller the last time he hunted. Everything weighed a ton then.

Jela stepped cautiously into the dark cave. It was dark, but light enough to see easily. It was cool, a relief and sanctuary from the burning sun. She padded quickly to the back, a private pool was situated under a stone ledge. Perfect, she thought as she smiled, then run off to find Sevvy, wincing as her wound tore with every step.

Sevvy saw her. 'Got one! Big one too!' He saw her wincing. 'Did you find shelter?' She nodded 'let's go there. And let me tend to your wound'. He saw her skeptical expression 'I can do these things. I used to fix my sisters cuts all the time'. With that he turned to follow her scent back I the cave.

Jela rolled her eyes and bounded ahead of him, indicating the hidden entrance with her muzzle. "It has a pool in it too-we won't have to go anywhere alone to get water and we can hide our scent by splashing water over it." She slid under the ledge that hid the small cavern, pulling the bison after her. She laid it a few feet away from their water source, then gritted her teeth as she ripped the scab off her wound. Blood started to flow freely. She snapped and snarled at Sevvy as he leapt forward to stop. She too a paw full of dirt and wet it, creating mud. She licked her wound, than packed the mud onto it. She turned to Sevvy and relaxed,"Believe me-it works. I've done this several times."

'Hmm' he said 'Thats what a lioness in my last pride did. She got blood poisoning. I'm guessing you don't know what that is?' She shook her head 'Well, it's when bad things get into your blood, and causes ou to get ill. I don't want to freak you out or anything, but it's a very slow and painful way to die. I saw a tree a bit back- it has healing powers in its leaves. Do I have permission to use it on you? I could sand it if I just let you get blood poisoning'.

Jela rolled her eyes. "I've heard of dying that way...the water and the dirt here have minerals." She sighed, he looked so worried,"But you can if it'd make you feel better..." She wondered how he could care so much about what happened to a complete stranger.

'Thank you', he said. he was so relieved. He would have done it whilst she was sleeping, but rather not have to force her. 'I'll go get it later'. he smiled at her. He knew she would be confused. It wasn't his fault he was over-caring. He just didn't want her to die. For some reason, he started to worry about her.

Jela sighed, she hated to be fussed over; it hadn't happened in such a long time. She stared out into space, let her thoughts overwhelm her. She snapped back to her present and shook her head quickly. She laid her head down on her forepaws and sighed deeply.

He looked at the soft before his eyes. A (Semi) lone lioness, no history (as far as he knew), a horrible wound. It made his head spin. 'I'll get the leaves' he piped up, hating the silence. She made a non-committal grunt, and he turns to leave. When he got outside, he tried to re-trace his steps o the tree.
