If you want to understand the backstory (aka Desmond and tha future!) for AC III then you are going to need to play Brotherhood and Revelations as well... :P You don't necessarily need to though... I'm sure they'll make it easy to follow for people who haven't played the previous games.

I've played all the games from AC1 to Revelations and I am excited to see how Desmond's story ends.
I'm not really playing it for the story though; mostly to get a feel for how the game itself plays and stuff.

But seriously, playing Assassin's Creed for the feel of it is like playing Call of Duty for the graphics. But we all have our reasons I suppose... :)

also flip AC istotally different from 2, brotherhood and revelation just as they areall different from each other and 1. each has new mechanics and gameplay from the last so playing one of them.. you have not played them all. i would highly recomend the full set of games even just to et the story asw well as evolving gameplay

Pre ordered the Join or die edition, and just can't way to play it since they are´using another engine for the game system!!
Finally they did after the first games ._. I loved them but they needed a few changings.
Plus i can't wait to see what's going on with Desmond ^^ and all this puzzles [censored] such a great idea next to the Story in the american revolution!! ^^

So playing AC 2 is NOT a good way to get an idea of how the upcoming third one might be? Well of its not sure you can see how me who has only played the first one might think so.

That does seen to be true actually. The 2nd one is quite different to what I remember of the first.

I know that there are a lot of people who'd feel uncomfortable whilst playing AC3 because they're British and a lot of the game will involve killing the British. I can't say that I wouldn't feel a little uncomfortable myself, but it's not a reason for me not to buy AC3; I'm getting Halo 4 instead. Wish I had the money to get both, though.

If I didn't feel uncomfortable being a terrorist in MW2 then I sure don't mind killing some British in a video game lol
