To me, Simba and Kiara's father-daughter relationship works well here and it touches me because they remind me of my relationship with my dad. Some might say "Oh, but Simba was too soft on Kiara quickly," but I really do not care. The song is great, the scenery is beautiful, and overall, has a good message.
Another part of the movie I found cheesy was when Timon took Pumbaa's tail and using it like a gun. It doesn't make any sense because I do not know how on Earth they can know how a gun works since they are animal characters and not humans. Other than that, nothing else and I still love the movie as I always have.
Oh! I'm so glad someone here loves the relationship between Kiara and Simba as much as I do! The song is very, very nice, the scenery is beautiful like you said and yeah, it has a great message to families, too.
And about Timon and the gun thing, earlier on in the movie he mentions getting a beeper for Kiara, and also calling for reservation, which are also some things he shouldn't really know about, but I always found it to be funny, I don't know...
