Shahallie tackled the third lion with no difficulty. He growled dangerously as he pinned his opponent.
"Why?!" He asked.
The lion looked up, frightfully, into Shahallie's eyes, but didn't say anything.
Saka now was angry.
"Are there more of you?" He barked at one of the lions that was pinned down. The lion hesitated at first, but finally said
"Y..yes. There's a whole pride of us out there."
"Why did you spy and jump on us like that?!"
"We were told to by our leader. He said to take care of any outsiders. He only wants one pride out there."
Saka and Shahallie exchanged glances with each other. This was not a good situation they were in. They both knew that the leader, assuming a powerful male, would want only one, glorious pride. Others have tried to do this in the past, but they usually failed. Saka finally growled and swiped at the lion's neck and crushed the other one's. Shahallie looked, stunned at what happened. Saka killed two lions that were already defeated. Saka saw the horror in Shahallie's eyes and said
"We're going to have a war on our hands, and that means were going to have to be safe and make sacrifices, even, death." He then looked at the smallest lion, under Shahallie's paws.
"Go tell your leader to stay away from us, or we'll do the same to him and his people if they ever come near us." Saka said fiercely. The lion nodded nervously and ran away the second Shahallie lifted his paws of him.
Saka sighed sadly and said
"Shahallie, please don't tell the others about what happened. Especially Tiaret."
"Don't worry. I won't." Shahallie said. "It would be best for the group I think if they didn't know."
They then started to walk back and swam across the river. They finally reached the forest and found the lionesses, all asleep except for Tiaret, who ran to Saka and nuzzled him.
