Who says they are "afraid" of anything? Its their choice, and if they have chosen to log in hidden they have a right to mention that the chatroom defeats the point of being hidden. It is a bother, especially since its now on the main page.

Butthurt from just having you NAME on it I assume? Not to be mean or anything though, I just hate when some complain about small things.

I feel like now the chat on the index page is bringing up small hurt. Just because NAMES of HIDDEN members show up. <.<

Needing privacy on a lion king forum is like....... I don't even think an analogy of such ridiculouness exists.

I think there should a be a separate log in option for the chatroom. That way, everyone is happy.

There was a forum I was active in a few years back. If someone wanted to chat, they would click on a link which would open up a window. It did not clog up the front page and if you were in chat, you were in chat.

The chatroom is integrated in phpbb. This means that logging into the forum = logging into the chatroom. Forum = chatroom. I doubt this is even possibe because I remember Moka once said this was the only well-functioning phpbb integrated chatroom.

He will know if it can be done. What I just don't get is why people log in hidden. I mean, what is everyone afraid of?

Actually, I don't see why people want to hide their online status. Is the CIA searching you or something?

I don't care how ridiculous it may be... I still want the option to remain hidden. And with stalkers like Noah... I don't think I need to explain that.

I personally understand why people want to stay hidden, having been stalked and harassed on forums before (not this one, I might add). It's not fun.

You would be quoting Yoda from Star Wars, also! Although he actually said "That, is why you fail..." so its not really a quote if the first word has been changed, but it is a thing... Yep, undoubtedly a thing.

Also, yes on here it is called "hidden" but in terms of what it does it may as well for all intents and purposes be "Privacy" which is a preference that some people... Prefer. And when preferences are then made redundant due to changes to a site, its not the best of design choices, to say the least.
A bit like how Facebook tells the other person you have seen their message... Some people don't mind it, I happen to think it sucks ass but it goes some way to show that different people prefer different levels of privacy.

I mean you know they are online anyway because you notice they made a post a few minutes ago, or are signed into MSN but I can see why some people do not want a banner that advertises "HEY, THIS PERSON IS ONLINE YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS BECAUSE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR STALKING PURPOSES K!"

Okay I am just going to say, this new thing of having the chat on the front page is really getting on my tits now.
Was funny at first but now its getting crap and its almost unusable because the same few people are in there all the time talking a load of incomprehensible nonsense, its basically a live version of the Member Dens, but even worse because now I don't even have the option of not seeing it.
It has obviously caused more problems than it fixed, lets just chalk it up as another catastrophic failure and let it go back to the way it was before. Keep only one general chat thread, just get the chat off my index page or an option to not be forced to see it.
Cause frankly, all things considered (including the "Hidden" thing) I really do not think it is worth forcing ourselves to get used to something which is just... A bit, crap, to be brutally honest.

EDIT - should probably mention that is just my opinion, if the majority prefer it this way I can live with it lol, i will just be the grumpy old man complaining about dem kids in dem dere chatroom making a racket.

I have to say that I agree with Flip, sort of. When the chat works as intended its a great addition to the site, it's just that 90% of the time it appears to get used for spamming & posting rude/inappropriate stuff =/
