Hey.. you asked, people are only answering. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And just to clear things up, I am the one who voted for 'Other'

We all know Marriage isn't about the love anymore anyways. It's about the financial support that comes with it.

Not in all cases. As you've probably read, myself and my boyfriend have just got back to work after a five month gap in employment. We could have got twice as many benefits for being a married couple, but did we get married? No. Because we are an old school couple and wanted to do it for love when we eventually do marry.

So you've kinda contradicted yourself a bit there XD I get told off for expressing my opinion on a few gay people I dislike and instantly people think I am against gay marriage and I dislike ALL gay people... And now you're generalizing people getting married for money and not love... I am a clear example thats not true lol..

I'm for Gay marriage! I don't see any harm in it.. love is love and you can't help the way we feel about someone. And aren't we supposed to treat everyone equally? Well, I don't see why gay people are any different..

To please. I still do not understand the why many people cannot accept that a man has taste for another man, or a woman for a woman, much less the fact that kill for this reason. They are completely normal people except that they contain different tastes like all of us, no one was born with the same tastes already are sexual, political, musical, artistic, among others.

STRAIGT PRIDE!, GUYS

LOL, no, well, I don't even see what's the big deal getting married is so.. I don't know, it's like people only get married because of the tradition and think there's where the love is or anything, pfft, love is not in a document that says you're married to this person, marriage is just unecessary, if you love someone, you'll show it through your actions, your way to be towards that person.. But still, a civil marriage is what those are asking for, they're not asking you to let them go to the church and get married there, so what's the big deal about what bible says and all that stupid drama?, still, I don't see why two persons who shares a sentiment of love couldn't get united according to their beliefs, but well, not a lot can be done with those who aren't willing to open their minds.

I say yes, cause it is a right, but it's something unecessary according to my point of view, both straight or gay.

Ask for opinions -> State there's only one right opinion and call anyone who believes differently "deluded", "bigoted zealots", "sickening", etc, scaring them away from actually posting their views. Now there's a way to debate!

At least ShadowFax understands.

Well I'd just like to say that just because someone clicked "no" doesn't necessarily mean they are against the idea of gay marriage. Just that they are not out to support it.

If I may ask, when the United States across the board approves of gay marriage, will this lead to having polygamy, bigamy, and have transexual marriage legalized? If so, I will expect more confusion on how these family structures will operate (and provide for the child(ren), which is another why I don't support gay marriage.

Another reason for my so-called "bigoted" conservative religious stance on same-sex marriage is that one of the purposes of marriage is for procreation, but I'll save that for another day.

Ermm... Doens't it help that, since gay couples can't procreate, they adopt, and therefore the amount of parentless children decreases somehow?

Yes, I know they can adopt, and the number of adopted orphans will increase. Did I say there was another bad about that?

Considering that more than half of marriages end in divorce, I don't see what the big deal is. There's a lot of straight couples out there that are in no condition to raise a child, what about them? If children are really prioritized above personal freedoms, less than half the human population would ever legally be able to have a kid, regardless of sexuality.

What is marriage? It's just a bunch of legal crap saying that two people can live together with legal and financial benefits. It has absolutely nothing to do with reproduction. You don't have to be married to make a baby, and you don't have to make a baby if you're married.
