Mio looked at Nova and smiled. How did you sleep?. I had a nightmare that is all.

Shinova resisted saying that he could take care of himself. "So where are these great trees?" Shinova asked as they headed north. "I have always wanted to climb trees. Not many in the open savanna or else I would have climbed them when I was really young." Shinova was getting really excited about having a friend that he liked. "It's nice to have someone." he thought.

Once Nova was sure herself and Mio were alone she looked at him with sad eyes.

"He hates me, doesn't he?" She said.

"Oh you'll love these trees then. They have vines too so if you feel unsafe you can hold onto them" Meeko said as they walked through the jungle.

He looked up at the canopy and smiled. He felt safe with Shinova.

Feeling of companionship finally filled Shinova felt at peace to talk about how he really felt. "Meeko; so what really happened to your family? Did you just get bored of your lifestyle?" Shinova was curious to why a meerkat would be out in the Jungle. He was glad that he had though, because he really enjoyed having a friend.

What Nova you seem confused. What is wrong? You seemed worried. You can tell me can't you if it is personal I can understand. We are alone so we can talk about whatever.

Nova's eyes began to water, yet she didn't seem to bothered about showing weakness around Mio now.

"I.. I try to be a good role model for Shinova. Try to put my past behind me, yet it is not enough. The way he looks at me... He hates me" She said with a sigh.

She sat down and let a tear fall.

Meeko looked back to Shinova and suddenly looked very uneasy. The little Meerkat sighed.

"They are all dead" He managed to say.

Hey it is ok. You can not satisfy everyone. Just do your best that is all you can do. So just do your best.

"I did" Nova sniffed.

She sighed and straightened up, forgetting herself for a moment.

"my best is never good enough Mio"

Nova stood up slowly. She smiled at Mio weakly.

"You are a very foolish lion" She said, but not unkindly.

"Im alright. Im just confused and getting used to this life style I guess. I think you'd be a good leader for a pride, and don't worry... I won't plot anything against you"
