So I noticed something yesterday while watching TLK. You probably have noticed it before (I'm sure about that) but anyway here's what I noticed. Mufasa and Simba in this scene have whiskers...
But those whiskers are gone even though it's still the same scene.
Please, don't hate on me if this is already posted.
Yeah, I notice this ALL THE TIME when I watch the movie.
Out of all the countless goofs and mistakes in the movie, this is one of them that it is the most noticeable. Anyway, pretty much in all the wide shots in the movie, the lion characters don't have any whiskers, while in the close-up shots, they do.
I would want to post the pictures as proof, but I'm going to a picnic.
I forgot where I read it, but when making The Lion King, drawing whiskers was problematic. Apparently, whiskers had to be drawn in a special process that was rather more complex than other lines, and they had to get their own layer for every frame and stuff like that. Therefore, the animators didn't really like whiskers (from what I understood).
Which is also why you get the occasional frame or scene where the whiskers are missing.

Yes, thank you for pointing that out: Yes, that is indeed why non of the lionesses have whiskers, because drawing them on all the male characters was bad enough.
