Should I feel happy for Esmeralda and Phoebes, or sad for Quasimodo? =/
I choose to feel sad, because I've never liked Phoebus lol. Phoebus and Esmeralda.....I do not ship it =P
Arghhh, how am I ever gonna be able to sleep =/
The ending kinda surprised me a bit, I thought Esmeralda would end up would Quasimodo in the end. But I like how Disney was more realistic towards what would happen in real life. You grow an attachment to Quasimodo throughout the movie, and learn that even though he is ugly, he has a great personality, and people treat him very unfairly. But his great personality, wasn't enough to make Esmeralda attracted to him. It's a sad truth, but human beings are cruel. They'd pick the person who is cute with a kind of dull personality, over an ugly person with a great personality. It's cruel, but that's just the way it goes most of the time.
I hate how Disney always aims towards making kids think life is going to always go your way, it's misleading. I think with realistic endings and their parents around to explain why it turned out this way, a kid would get a better lesson out of these movies. It's one of the good reasons why I think 80's and 90's Disney was the golden era of Disney. They didn't insult the intelligence of children, they treated them like they'd understand why life isn't always fair.
