[Private] Balto II: Redemption

Kalu let a shiver run up his fur "I should say I'm sorry Aleu I've found you so attractive since I saw you in town but it's what I'm about to tell you that's kept me from saying anything." Kalu dug his claws into the ground and grit his teeth. "Back when I still ran with my pack I fell in love with another wolf named Salshi. She and I were inseparable but when the alpha found out about us he ambushed her while she was away. When I found out they told me that a bear killed her but I knew better and I promised myself I wouldn't let myself feel that pain again." Kalu couldn't keep himself from crying even two years after it happened it still hurt.

Steele noded in agreement as they started off heading in the direction of a few tracks that they found once they started. "Hey Balto I've been meaning to ask what do you plan to do once you find Aleu and Kalu?"

Aleu's jaw dropped in shock before she finally composed herself. "That's horrible, Kalu, and what do you mean that you find me attractive? Are you in love with me?" she said.

Balto sighed. "I will try to convince Aleu to return to Nome. As for Kalu, that's up to him," he replied.

"I believe I am and I'm mad that I let myself feel this way." Kalu stood up his emerald green eyes staring into Aleu's sapphire eyes like they were looking into her soul. "Aleu you're so beautiful and I don't want to loose you like I lost Salshi so in my own way I'm saying that yes Aleu I do love you." he stood there waiting a response from her.

Aleu took several long, deep breaths. She could feel her heart beating a million miles a minute. She had been watching him as they traveled together and found him attractive herself. She knew that she simply could not turn him down. Her eyes took on a flirtatious gleam as she walked toward him. "You are pretty cute. I think I could accept you as my mate, if you want to be," she said.

Kalu's ears twitched hearing her say that but just as quickly as the moment arrived it fell apart when he caught the scent of his former pack and they were very close. He walked outside the old den seeing the pack standing and waiting for him thought the pack had thinned a bit it was still a threat "Aleu stay inside the den." hearing the leader laugh "Come on Kalu I thought you learned your lesson with that sorry excuse of a mate you had last time." Kalu charged with tears in his eyes.

Steele walked slowly with Balto and Star looking around for the two when he caught something "Hey Balto, Star check it out I think this Aleu's tracks but they've got company a wolf pack is hunting them we need to hurry."

Balto nodded. "Come on, guys. If we hurry, we might be able to diffuse this entire thing before it even starts," he said, running ahead of his brothers-in-law.

Aleu watched her new love confront his enemy. "Please, Kalu, don't do anything stupid," she whispered.

Kalu growled charging at the alpha running past him all but two of the pack chasing after Kalu cornering him up against a ledge going down to the river growling and scratching at each wolf that tried to attack him. The two remaining wolves moved closer to the den closing in on Aleu trapping her inside the den.

Steele could smell the scent of the wolves getting closer when he caught Aleu's scent "Balto Aleu's close real close." he shouted seeing two wolves moving closer to a den pointing it out to Balto and Star.

Balto kept running. "Come on, guys!" he said, never missing a step as he ran towards his daughter. Aleu backed up. "Think really hard before you attack me, stinkweeds!" she said.

He two wolves got close laughing "Oh yeah little girl and just what are you gonna do about it?" hey continued getting closer. Meanwhile farther off Kalu had managed to injure each of the lower wolves when the alpha stepped forward laughing and strikes Kalu dodging his bites and scratches easily biting and clawing at him injuring him more and more hoping Aleu was ok.

Steele and Balto made to the site seeing the tracks of the pack "You guys make sure Aleu's okay I'm going after Kalu and the pack." he said running off to see what was going on with Kalu.

Balto and Star finally arrived. He could hear the wolves growling at Aleu. "Hey! Leave her alone!" Balto shouted to get the wolves' attention. "Papa?" Aleu said upon hearing the voice.
