"Close to Shore: The Terrifying Shark Attacks of 1916" by Michel Capuzzo.
The attacks are what inspired the movie Jaws and were local events (no seriously, the shark's final victim was killed in the tidal creek that borders my town, they fished his leg out of the beast when they killed it & he's buried locally,) which the anniversaries are this month.
Especially appropriate now though as I heard on the news this morning that Great Whites were spotted both in California and the waters off of Cape Cod, Massachusettes this past weekend.
Sharks creep me the heck out.
