"Kovu." Kivuli said quietly looking down at the small cub. For the first time Kivuli thought of him something besides a little teenager trying to act tough for the affection of his family. "You cannot leave. I would give anything to go back and serve my mother. You are running away from what your mother, the one who created you, that nursed you, that protected you and now is training you?" Kivuli said sternly.

Vitani ignored Kivuli. She didn't like how she called him Lady Vitani. Maybe she'd tell him that later.

She backed away from Zira and Kivuli. As loyal as she was to her mother, she knew that Zira was lying when she talked about the missing ear piece.
But also, Kovu was acting rather stupid.

"Kovu, will you tell me what Simba has done to you? Surely this doesn't have to end in bloodshed..." Vitani's eyes focused off in the distance.

Kivuli sighed. "I had no mother, or father. Wandering out on your own is not fun at all Kovu. I'll tell you that from experience. I would not care what my mother asked of me, or what the reason was that i was even around. All that mattered was that i had a mother. You shouldn't throw away your life so blindly. If you were to join the pride lands...i'd have to exterminate you." Kivuli murmured.

Zira looked at Vitani. "Vitani, do you think I'm lying about myear peice, if you think I am, that's what really happened." Zira then scratched Kovu. "Listen to me! You remember Kiara don't you Kovu?"

Kivuli looked to Zira without much expression. She was starting to get cruel with Kovu now.

Vitani sighed and gently put one paw over Kovu's.

"Kovu, I can't speak everyone else's minds here for them, but I just want to let you know that I love you. You're my brother, and Scar can't change that. Kivuli's right; living by yourself isn't easy, and the Pridelands would have no reason to accept you into their Pride. Unless.."
An evil smirk came over Vitani's face. "Exactly, Zira! That way, we'll get Simba's trust, and then it's the end for Simba; the brat too!" Vitani started to laugh a little bit.

Kivuli looked to Kovu and remained silent. That plan sounded extremely cruel. Gain the trust of the pride landers, kill their king , then take their throne. At the same time weaving betrayal and hatred into it.

Vitani sighed.

"Kovu, it's really for your own good. It's follow the plot, get Simba, or for Mother to get mad and it's you on your own. I really don't want this to happen, and neither do you, now, am I right?"

Then, she realized that Kovu was no longer the fun lion he once was.
