The smoking thread

The "lets all hate on FlipMode" thread.
But here it goes, I guess.

Do you smoke? Have you ever tried it? What is your view on people who do, and does it bother you to such an extent where you feel you cant be friends with them? There is a lot of room for discussion on this matter, whichever side you are on. And I know for a fact, I am not the only one here who does. So lets have a good chin wag about it shall we, guys?

I assume we're talking about cigarettes? Don't have much to say on the subject---rather self destructive, not something I would want to let my friends get into. But definitely not something I would judge someone for. I think of it as a bad habit personally. Everyone has vices.

No, I don't smoke, and I never will. I may drink alcohol in the future, but I will never smoke. My opinion on people who do smoke is that they are damaging their health in the long run, but if they know the consequences of smoking and continue to smoke, MORE POWER TO THEM!

And no, I don't think smoking will affect my friendship with them, but I will do everything in my power to keep from secondhand smoking.

Blah, I hate smoke. Weed makes me sick (I live in California, great....)

As for traditional smoke: I'm an athlete, and running past a smoker is baadd. Half a puff and you can't breath for the next few minutes. So yeah, no smoking for me.

I don't like smoking personally, but I certainly won't judge someone for doing it. If they're a good enough friend to me though, I would do everything in my power to get them to try and stop.

I would chime in on the subject of the other kind of "smoke". But I feel it's a very controversial topic and I don't want to start anything.

I smoke. I have nervous tendencies, which I believe is why I smoke. The nicotine gives me a shot of peace lol but I know its a horrible habit. However, like Azdgari said, everyone has vices. A stronger person than myself would go to therapy, but I'm too lazy.

I don't know why anyone would start smoking in the twenty first century, now that we know how unhealthy of a habit it is. I know I shouldn't judge anyone for it, but, to be honest, that's really hard to do. Smoking means prioritizing other things above one's personal health, which makes absolutely no sense to me, no matter how I look at it.
