I'm pretty sure that everyone knows what I'm talking about: The story about a pessimistic 17 year old girl name Bella Swan who falls in love with a stupid vampire name Edward Cullen.
Let me just say this: If you were to ask me what was the worst movie you have ever seen, my answer is Twilight. GOD I hate this movie (and the books) a lot! I have many problems with it.
1. The acting: It's VERY poor and the actor choices were horrible for the characters. Kristen Stewart has got to be one of the worst actresses I have ever seen in a movie. I mean, she plays Bella and she's not believable. She never smiles and always gives the same, dull look on her face for every emotion. None of the acting convinced me nor did they move me in a powerful way. The dialogue was very bad and in the books, it was poorly written.
2. The characters: When you have characters that you just don't care for, then you have a problem. None of them are relatable, have no character depth whatsoever and they're very 1-Dimentional. Bella is probably the worst female protagonist I must have ever read and seen for a series. All she does is complain about how bad her life is, hates many things, and she falls for Edward just because of his looks. Also, she does really stupid things. You want your protagonist to be a good role model towards your fans/audience. Did Stephanie Meyer (the author of the books) ever think it was OKAY for a girl to almost commit suicide by jumping off a cliff just so she can be with her boyfriend who happens to abuse her and puts her in danger? Do you think it's OKAY for you to disrespect your parents and not care for their feelings about your decisions? Edward abuses her emotionally and psychologically, which being her boyfriend is unhealthy for her, yet she still wants him. I don't understand what she sees in him. Also, Edward is NOT a sexy boyfriend and he's very creepy. Bella found it sweet when she found out Edward stalked her by watching her sleep. Umm...If I had a boyfriend who watched me sleep, I would call the police right away. She's very unintelligent and she makes Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games like Jon Of Arc (I don't know how to spell her name), which Katniss is the opposite of Bella because she's intelligent, has personality, and has the true bravery to fight in the Games in order to protect her sister and family. Bella does nothing on her own and always has to depend on Edward to save her own butt. She is just extremely annoying!
3. The vampires: All authors have to do some research before writing an actual novel. Even if it's a fantasy novel, they must do research on mythical creatures and whatever they want their inspiration from. Stephanie Meyer did not do any research on vampires and made them all up to be complete "original". Since when do vampires sparkle in the sunlight when they're supposed to burn and how can a vampire be a vegetarian if they eat deer or some other animal and not eat human blood?! Also, vampires do not have superhuman strength and other superhero powers.
4. The story: There is NO plot whatsoever. This is just a cliche story that has been done a thousand times, seen in thousands of different movies, done a thousand times better than Twilight. Bella and Edward have no chemistry between them and the fact that Edward fell for Bella became of her blood and Bella falling for him because of his looks and being a vampire, is flat out ridiculous.
5. The environment: So Bella happens to live in Forks (a really bad town in America) that is always cloudy, rainy, and dark. Why is it giving such a depressing feeling to the environment with all the bluish and greenish colors that make you feel dead cold and make the people and vampires even more pale? Come on! There has to be SOME sun in the sky shining on Forks! Even in Bella's school, the same depressing, cold, bluish/greenish feeling is inside the building. Where is the lighting? In Bella's house, it's always dark like her and her father don't even use their lights. In one scene, Bella and Edward are in the woods talking and the ridiculous moment with Edward's sparkling skin is seen in the sunlight. If there is a cold, cloudy, and depressing feeling in the environment, how would that one speck of sunlight be there? I assume it was probably the set lights from when they shot the scene. >.>
Overall, I really really really hate the Twilight saga and I personally don't recommend anyone into spending their time reading the books and watching the movies because they're just that bad. The only character that I like (or can at least tolerate) is Alice. She's okay, but that's not saying anything. What are your thoughts on the series?
