Kivuli looked back into Mila's eyes with his burning red ones, and she blushed. Her confidence was strengthening with every subtle hint he gave her, but still felt uneasy. Mila blushed and looked away from Kivuli after a long stare into his gorgeous and unique eyes.

Mila listened to Kivuli speak, and was touched at how absolutely caring he was for her. She responded in a soft tone, cute and warm. "I'm perfectly fine now, with you here by my side..." She paused for a second. She was about to tell Kivuli her feelings, but something stopped her so she continued to answer his question. "With my wounds being treated so delicately I'm sure I'll be just fine tomorrow. Thank you for everything Kivuli." With this said, Mila gently put her head under Kivuli's, nuzzling him at first but she never went back. She just stayed under the mane of Kivuli, feeling the greatest form of care and protection she had ever felt. Ever.

Kivuli felt the soft gentle fur of Mila brushing under his muzzle and then coming to rest. It was at this moment that Kivuli switched onto the fact, that Mila felt as he did. Or was it just a friendly response? Only time was going to tell. For now they just enjoyed each others warm caring embrace. Kivuli listened to her with eager ears and continued to smile all the way If you never need me for anything you just need to ask He gave a friendly nuzzle on Milas head

After a full day's rest, Vitani was beginning to wake up. She slept restlessly, nearly conscious, but not quite opening her eyes. She didn't stir until finally her eyes cracked open to let in the first light since early that morning. Not three feet away, Kivuli was happily wrapped around Mila. They exchanged sweet nothings as she woke. Vitani rolled her eyes and pushed herself up on her good arm until she was in an easy half-sitting position.

"So it looks like Simba wasn't so opposed to your little affair." She grunted slightly absently, just for something to say while she got her bearings, and forestall any embarassing kerfuffle of attention that was liable to happen if Kiara or Nala were in the area. "He just wanted to keep an eye on you while it happened." Vitani looked around a little more and saw that they appeared to be the only lions in the den at the moment, which surprised her. It seemed odd that Simba would leave the main den wide open for Kivuli and Mila after such harsh condemnation of their association only a short time earlier. "So anybody going to tell me what I've missed today? or am I gonna have to go venture out instead. Where are the others?" Trying her best to back up her words, Vitani pushed herself into a full sitting position, feeling only a minor twinge from her paw. Rafiki's old tricks were working like a charm.

"Now don't beat yourself up Kiara," Kovu said, propping himself up slightly to look his mate in the eye with a loving and reassuring voice. "You have a gift of your own. Vitani always said that you're the heart of this pride after what you did with me to reunite the prides. That's some major praise coming from my sister. She doesn't recognize my part in the business." he went on mock-sulkily "Not while I'm around anyway."

He let himself drift gently back against the ground and his beloved mate, returning her affectionate grooming and listening with a slightly self-satisfied grin to her praise. He responded to Kiara's tender kiss enthusiastically, and then gazing down at her when they finally broke apart. Her smooth fur seemed to melt and shift in the twinkling light of the stars like the surface of a river reflecting the gentle light of the moon.

"We're the best team there is Kiara." he murmured into her ear, tickling gently with his breath. "We are one. You and I can do anything we set our minds to. Even raise this little cub!"

Mila was drifting off to sleep. The comfortable fur that was Kivuli's mane was so relaxing to the lioness. Combined with the beating she had taken earlier, it wasn't hard for Mila to slowly lose consciousness and her eyes began to droop.

Mila listened to Kivuli's sentence in a half conscious state. As the warmth of the twos special embrace was taking it's final effect, Mila muttered some very important last words before finally falling asleep. "Thank you Kivuli...." was mumbled, and Mila's muzzle was smiling contently in the mane of Kivuli as she fell asleep in the moment that seemed like heaven.

Kivuli relaxed his body to make himself a better pillow for Mila. As she drifted off to sleep, Vitani's words were heard by the gray beast I see you are feeling better Vitani, good to know. Some big did happen while you were out of it. Simba had ordered me to patrol the Pridelands so I did. On my way round the boarders I pick up a startling scent. I followed my nose and ran as fast as i could to confirm what I was smelling. It turned out to be two lions the I thought to be dead, they had returned

Kivuli took a sort breath and lowered his voice a little so not to disturb Mila When I saw them, they were about to have their way with Mila. I jumped in and ended the fight. She came away with several wounds and was completely exhausted. She was brought back here to rest. After I finished my rounds I came to check to see if Mila was ok. I was surprised that the den was empty and only Nala was here to comfort her. So all I decided to do is give a fellow pridemember some warmth in the cold evening that is coming upon us. I would do the same for anyone

Kivuli had lied about the last part. He wouldn't do this for anyone. Only Mila. He just said that to hide his feelings from Vitani. She didn't need to know If you want to go and tell Simba about what's going on here i wont stop you. But I am not leaving Mila in this state with such a cold night setting in

"Yea, it's easy to imagine you cuddling up with Kovu like this." Vitani said. The words were sarcastic, but they were reflex, and her heart wasn't in the jib. She was preoccupied by Kivuli's mention of strangers and her own less-than-perfect physical condition. "When was this? I guess Simba's still out somewhere taking care of the rest of the pride then. You can calm down though, I'm not so petty that I'd try to cause problems between you two. Simba's a crafty ruler though, maybe he's letting this happen and hoping that Mila will get rid of that annoying habit of yours of turning everything into a muscle-off and make you respect pride life."

Vitani was surprised that she'd slept through such excitement. Usually she'd be right at the forefront of that kind of hunt. At the moment she was slightly restless, it might be a pain to have to sleep through the night. Vitani appreciated the need for rest and healing, but she didn't like being put out of the action for an entire day and night.

Looking up at Kovu with a loving smile, blushing slightly from his flattering words, Kiara reached a fore paw up to lightly scratch under his chin as she replied in an appreciative tone.

”Aww, thank you Honey. You always know how to make me feel better and I really don’t know what I’d do without you.”

Lowering her paw now, snuggling in closer to her beloved mate as he lowered his head towards hers, purring contently as she licked softly over his cheek before closing her eyes and speaking in a tired voice.

”I know you’re going to make everyone in The Pride Lands very proud when you’re king Honey and I’m sure Taraji will be just as proud of her daddy as I am. We are the perfect pair and nothing will ever change that.”

Letting a cute little yawn leave her muzzle, Kiara slowly started to drift off to sleep, her ears twitching occasionally from the passing breeze and just in case her mate might say something else to her. Feeling warm and secure in his presence however, it wasn’t long before the golden furred princess had joined her slumbering daughter in dreamland.

The night had set in by the time Simba had returned from his favorite thinking spot, past The Elephant Graveyard. He often times, would retreat to this location whenever he had too much on his mind to think about. Only Nala and Kiara knew of where this spot was and Simba liked it that way. It was one of the few places that he could find solace and privacy away from the rest of the pride. Not wanting for anyone to worry about where he might have gone off to however, Simba made it a point to always never stay very long there. Now, as his figure was illuminated by the rising moon, the thoughts that swirled around in his mind still plagued him as he made his way back towards Pride Rock. The recent attacks, both on Vitani and Mila were weighing very heavily upon the king’s mind and were starting to bother him more than anything.

Laini walked to the waterhole and lapped in her tongue to drink. She did not say a word. She was tired because the energetic cub wore her out. One side inside her was happy that she would return to her new den because it was not so far as her old one. She looked up to check what Daxis was doing.

Rahina was puzzled by the cub comming at her so fast. She had no experience with cubs and other than Kopa noone ever snuggled against her... even the cubs back in her own cubhood had been intimidated by her scars and did not snuggle up on her.

Rahina, still in thoughts about her being able to raise a cub, was completely startled by the question of Nala. She really wanted to snuggle against Kopa and she was pretty exhausted also. In addition she did not know if Kopa would mind the cub comming with them. She was indecided what to do and so she pushed the decision on someone else.

"Well I think we should let the little one... Almasi, right? .... decide on with whom she wants to spend the night." she talked over her shoulder to Nala. She stood still to wait for an answer of either Nala or the cub.

Daxis nearly jumped to the waterhole he made small leaps around Laini till they reached the waterhole.
He went next to Laini and layed down edge. His reflection glistened in the evening sun and he quarryed it with his right paw in the water and watched how the reflection faded away and recured. Daxis laughed and did it again and again.

Almasi smiled "i want to go with you" she said to Rahina as she nuzzled her yet again, Almasi wasnt shy on asking for what she wanted, she was usally shy around lions she didnt know though, but she felt safe here, she felt at home
