The Mistlands RP

The Leo's (magical lions) have been hated on for generations because of their difference. Their rivals, a pride of black lions who have set on to destroy the Leo's, are building armies bigger than ever to conquer the Mistlands and take control of it's magical energy. But this time, the black lions have a secret weapon. They obtained 5 magical artifacts meant to give it's bearer magical power. Now with the black lions having powers and armies, will the Leo's of Mistlands finally see their last day.

It was a nice day, well every day was nice in the Mistlands, but today seemed like something good was going to happen. Too bad Bo didn't know what it was. His crescent moon mark on his forehead started to throb. This happened every time something big was moving, he had an innate ability to sense big things coming or going, since his power has to do with moving objects and himself. He didn't know what the thing was, but he thought it was a good thing.

He ran past a sleeping antelope and a herd of wildebeasts, they didn't even blink an eye, for Bo was going superfast and they didn't even see or hear him. He stopped under the big family tree near the cave. This is where most of the lions relaxed at, and the purple fruit was delicious, even for carnivores.

He saw a butterfly flying not too far away. Tapping into his telekinesis, he started to move the butterfly around against it's will. He laughed as he watched the creature try to regain control over it's own wings. Bo wasn't the cruelest of lions at all, but he did enjoy playing bully sometimes.

Suddenly the butterfly's edge became fuzzy, and the body began to darken, as though it was sucking away the light that landed on it. The black silhouette began to change shape, first into a compact ball, and then expanding rapidly until it took the shape of a familiar light brown lioness with a shining blue stone in the shape of a crescent-moon around her neck. Loona emerged slowly from behind the darkness that accompanied her transformation, still floating in the air in Bo's supernatural grip.

"Good morning to you as well Bo." Loona said with her characteristically serene voice. She was a very melodic lioness, as well as being the oldest and wisest of the Mystland lionesses children. She had a laid back personality, and took everything that happened in stride. It was no use worrying about the past or the future she thought; it was best to leave that to cryptic old seers like Crona. Loona often enjoyed spending time in forms other than her own. It was always refreshing to see the world from another point of view. This morning she had decided to be a butterfly. It was a form that suited her personality rather well: carefree, with a slightly zigzaggiy path through the world. Living in the present and always stopping to appreciate the flowers. At the moment she was relaxing in Bo's magical grip, floating peacefully over the ground.

"Things aren't always what they seem Bo, least of all in the Mystlands" Loona continued thoughtfully. "You'll grow to love this place if you haven't already. It seems that we can do no wrong here. Everything keeps itself in perfect balance almost of it's own accord. I wonder sometimes if we affect the land by living here or if it has a power greater than any of ours."

Bo was surprised but see that the butterfly was Loona, trying out another shape. Sometimes he wanted to know what it was like to be something else, but found comfort in the fact that his speed was superior and no one could match him in it. No one has sped across the plains of Africa like he did, smelling every type of animals as you passed it, crunching every type of land as you ran on it, and feeling the atmosphere as it changed drastically as you passed the weather clouds above faster than they traveled themselves.

He watched Loona hover there as she ranted on about balance, she sounded like Crona actually, minus the kooky part. He gently lowered her to the ground. "Sorry, Loona, didn't know it was you." The comment she made about the Mistlands having it's own power did make Bo wonder. Of course the only people who would probably know would be Crona or Mfalme, but Mfalme was the more wise to ask, for his straightforwardness and honesty. Crona would just give you mumbo jumbo and talk in circles, at least that's what Bo heard all the time.

"I actually saw a red-spotted warthog on my way here...thought it was you," since most warthogs weren't spotted. But with Loona's power she could shapeshift into whatever she wanted, including a red-spotted warthog. Bo made a mental note to hunt it down later, he couldn't wait to see how it would taste. The red-spotted warthog wasn't the only peculiar animal he'd seen either. Maybe this place was magical all on it's own.

[Mike]

"An easy mistake to make." Loona said matter-of-factly as she gingerly stepped out of the invisible grip onto solid earth. "After all, I'm exactly the same as the real thing that I'm emulating when I'm in my transformed state. That's kind of the point really." She finished playfully, tossing her head before Bo's mention of a spotted warthog caught her attention.

"Yes, that's rather odd..." Loona said in response to this, frowning slightly in thought. After a second of this she snapped her head back up to look at Bo. "I suppose this is just one of those rare cases when appearances aren't diceaving. It's just a red speckled warthog." Loona shrugged to herself.

"I don't know the full history of this place," Loona said, starting uncertainly, but quickly gaining enthusiasm, "but if it existed before we arrived here I think it must be the place where life began. Look into the mist for a moment; can't you imagine creatures emerging from it and diving into life on the planet? It seems like everything ever created or that ever will be created is living somewhere in the mist, waiting for it's time. Maybe that's what produced our mysterious warthog."

Loona gestured widely and suggestively at the close and impenetrable mist that surrounded the borders of the lands, and protected them from the intrusive views of outsiders. The mist gave the impression that the Leos lived on an island paradise. The borders were not a wall to Loona, but the suggestion of creation that was yet to come. It was a symbol of potential, and infinite possibilities to her. She imagined that at one point in the far-forgotten past the world was nothing but a sea of mist. Then suddenly, there emerged a single point of land, a single blade of grass and that all of creation then pushed on outwards, and continued to do so now. Anything could be hidden in the mist.

As Bo and Loona were talking to each other under the big family tree, another lioness only fifty feet away was laying on a hill side. It was none other than Starr, the youngest of the three sisters, who's fur was dark orange, and had a star shaped mark on her forehead. Being the youngest, Starr was always the attention getter, being immature at most times and was always getting into loads of trouble.

Starr looked over to see her oldest sister showing off her powers to the newest member, Bo. Starr wasn't jealous of Loona's power, but always wondered what it would be like to shape shift into any creature. Starr then turned her attention away from Bo and Loona, and up to the brightly lit sun shining down on her, feeling the warmth of sun on her fur.

Starr raised her clinched paw to the sky, then opening her hand, and released two small flames that began to take shape. The two flames started to take shape of what looked like two birds. Starr moved her paw round and round, controlling the two birds, having them move in a constant circle.
As she controlled the two birds, Starr looked out to the horizon of the Mistlands and said, "There has got to be something to do today. I am so bored right now."
