Woeler's Poetry

Postby Woeler » January 30th, 2012, 10:26 pm

A Soldiers Poem
Spoiler: show
A human life so far away
A life as dark and dull as gray
Crawling through the sand so hot
It would only take one shot
For this life to vanish forever
But the time we care is almost never
Play your games there back at home
Over who conquers the political throne
When they say my name you say: Who?
But I am supposed to die for you
Once the blood and sand will be one
And all my life will soon be gone
The highest price I have to pay
For you to live another day
Now you can take another breath
But who will care about my death?

To Die
Spoiler: show
There has never been someone strong enough
To hold on to the hands of time
As this journey may be tough
The truth that lies within this rhyme

You’ve already walked the sands of time
And your footprints may not last
But to live in hearts we leave behind
Is a mark left in the past

To live in hearts we leave behind
Is not to die

What would you do
Spoiler: show
what would you do
if tomorrow it would all end?
Would you look anxiously at the clock on the wall?
Would time no longer be your friend?

The future would no longer be
and you'd live for the moment alone
Would you be the one you always wanted to be?
Would you stand up and reach for the throne?

We banish our dreams to tomorrow and later
But doesn't it hurt in a way
That you'd only do what you wanted to do
if tomorrow would be your last day

Time to go
Spoiler: show
All the ships sailed away
But most of them returned
They lay in the port before me
But my ship remains burnt

It's time to go
And it's no time to flee
It's time to go
Time to finally be free

I've seen one hundred thousand ships
Depart into the night
But by the force of habit
I just stayed where I felt right

It's time to go
And it's no time to flee
It's time to go
Because he who stands still can not be free

I don't know where I am going
But someday I'll be gone
With the courage to give up
I am absolutely done

It's time to go
With everything I have

It's time to go
I'll give everything I have

The future
Spoiler: show
In the past we played outside
In the break outside of school
We had a lot of dreams
Because life was young and never cruel

One became a football player
The other drove a bus
We believed in our future
Because the teacher had told us

You can become everything you want
As long as your homework's done
But you have to be patient
Until you're big and strong

Is this the future?
Is this the future, Is this the result?
A certificate full of lies
Which states you're an adult

Is this the future?
Is this the future, Who gives a damn?
I know nothing about life
I still don't know who I am

We all still play a game
But no longer at school
And most of us became
What we thought wasn't cool

We're all adults
At least that is what they say
This whole chaos called life
Shouldn't it be more than gray?

Is this the future?
Is this the future, no more youth?
A certificate full of lies
Which states you know the truth

Is this the future?
Is this the future, Who gives a damn?
I know nothing about life
I still don't know who I am

Is this the future?
