I dont think Zira 'fell' I read somewhere about the possibility that she committed suicide, after the "This is for you, Scar!" line and then jumping off the cliff because she would rather die at her own will than be killed by Simba, or worse, join him.

That's true, there's even a video for that.

I am one of those people who thinks that Zira actually let herself go and effectively committed suicide instead of allowing Kiara to save her. And if you look at the early drafts of SP, that's exactly what happens.

I was right then!! Excellent! I always thought Zira was too proud, too strongly willed simply to just "fall" that seems so lame. and she could have easily reached Kiara's paw IF she had wanted too.

Well disregarding the original idea that she JUMPED, its possible she might have tried to fight Simba over and over no matter what.

It would be rather lame if Zira would keep trying so much, that it would turn into an endless series of proxy wars - where Zira will keep trying to kill Simba for so long, that she would simply get too old to fight herself and instead rely completely on others to do the fighting for her. Simba in turn would have to rely on his pride fighting those others who don't really have a grudge against him, but simply follow Zira, who does.

Although you would think that eventually, Zira would get to old to lead anyone, because they won't allow themselves to be lead by an old lioness, so the very last battle will be a battle of stamina, who will outlive who. But because Simba is an entire generation younger than Zira, if not even younger, it looks like she is going to lose no matter what.

Well, my opinion to the whole thing: She would still commit suicide. For me this was in a way suicide, I mean... SHE SMILED when she falled O.O In a delented scene it was even suicide, but the gusy from SP changed it, becaus eit was too "dark" -.-' Anyway, suicide just fits SO good in her crazy mind, it would be perfect. And I just can't imagine that Zira would really join Simba, I mean she devoted her whole life in killing Simba and if I would be her, after so many years, I would NEVER just forgive everything Yes, I think she would fight till the end.

You know, she could have joined Simba and tried to gain his trust then stab him in the back. Of course, it would be difficult to get the Pridelanders to trust her but surely she could have pulled something.

She probably would have been better off doing that.

But the suicide was still a dramatic death. They should have kept that in.
