Was Zira mentally unstable to begin with?

I have to add, from an RP term of perspective..A character can have a trait that is solid. The ability to be a good fighter, or a great Mother, or super smart or educated, a good hunter..etc etc..But for each good trait you MUST have two, count them, two. Character flaws. Think about it this way.

When is the last Super character you met in a story, film, series, novel, game, rp session, etc that did everything right. Never had a physical, mental or social weakness of any kind? I can damn well bet its alot more then you think..you know why you cant name one off the top of your head? BECAUSE THOSE CHARACTERS ARE BOOOOOOOOOOORING!! Flaws are good! Bad is good!

Zira has hundreds of flaws, from her being unstable, to over bearing, egotistical and selfish. She even has physical flaws for those two dull to read into her words or actions. She has an ugly scar on one ear, clear as day. Her body is overly thin, starved by sacrificing food to her cubs instead, and a rasped voice (i so think that was a choice by the talent staff, it helps show she had a hard life, imo of course). And I havent even mentioned her social flaws. Mental and physical are one thing, but its how the character ACTS with other characters that make us love them, makes us hate them, makes us..well..want to be them!

You know i take back my fan girl ranting and [censored] about how people dont respect Zira. i take it back. People do respect her, in fact they have named her the Best Disney Villianess more times then i can count, online. They mention her constantly, and are honestly curious about her past, and her future. So i take it back, because from just thinking about it in those terms..she is by far the most respected, and well known flawed character in the TLK universe.

I think Scars death would make her go insane.
I mean who wouldn't go insane and swore revenge to the one who killed the one that you loved.

But he did attack him and push him down the cliff to where the hyenas ate him alive. I don't think she would want to accept Scar made the fatal mistake of blaming the hyenas. Also, Simba did take Scar's kingship which is what she seems to be the angriest about.

This is the way I see it:

The lionesses were starving under Scar's rule. The pridelands were destroyed. When Disney decided to make a sequel, they knew that no sane lioness would ever challenge Simba. So, they had to make the leader of the outsiders insane. Hence, the moral of the story: if a group is led by an idiot, that doesn't necessarily mean the whole group is a bunch of idiots.

I don't exactly think she was crazy since birth, but she must have been crazy before Scar died.

I have always seen Zira as a deranged groupie type. Even as a kid watching SP, I knew there was 'something off' about her.

Zira has this 'Susan Atkins' vibe about her. Scar's death sent her over the edge.
