Same here. I even went so far as to create a fanfic version of it, only it was dinosaurs living with anthros instead of humans.

No. It's a different story. More or less, the dinosaurs on what eventually became the island of Dinotopia survived the mass extinction by hiding in an underground cave system. Over the centuries, the humans arrived and built up a civilization that used the dinosaurs as riding mounts and more.
