Almost like clockwork, Delano was already in another nightmare. It was the same one as he had for a long time now, where he was killing everyone he knew and loved, only to get attacked at the end of it. This time he tried to run, but felt that something was blocking his path, and he was stuck.

Because of the nightmare, Delano was trying to run, even though he was right next to Muroki. And as the nightmare got worse, he started whimpering in pain and fear, but still wasn't able to wake up.

Muroki had no idea whether he had fallen asleep again or not, but at some point his brother began stirring rather oddly and soon he was also whispering. Realizing that his brother was having yet another nightmare, Muroki decided to wake him up. He brought a paw over to his shoulder and shook him a bit, making sure not to cause his broken legs any sudden stirs. "Delano, wake up..." he said in a whisper in his brother's ear, shaking him again.

Delano felt something shake him, and his fear exploded. He swung his paws, trying to defend himself, but they were instead forced to the ground. After that, the shaking only increased, and it was finally enough to wake him up.

He lifted his head up, looking around desperately, but only saw the usual darkness. Eventually he calmed down enough to hear that his brother was trying to calm him down. "Mu-Muroki?" he asked shakily, "what happened?"

Muroki continued shaking his brother, feeling his brother's paws pass just by his face and realizing that his brother was swinging randomly. After a moment of locating the paws' location in the darkness and forcing them down, he shook Delano again. "You were having another nightmare..." it certainly did look like it, or at least sound like it because Muroki couldn't see anything. "I think..."

Delano looked around again, a rather pointless task. "Oh," he finally muttered, trying to calm down. Already, he was feeling like he might fall unconscious at any moment, but was once again too scared to allow himself to sleep.

What he didn't say was that he was already suspecting that Muroki was that thing that was attacking him in his dreams. He wasn't certain, but he knew that he didn't want to find out. "Do you know when... how much time has passed?" he asked.

Muroki shook his head at his brother's question, out of instinct because he knew that his brother couldn't see him. "No, I have no idea." it might have been hours and it might have been a few minutes, he couldn't tell. "But we shouldn't worry about missing the trial, since they will obviously come to take you there when the morning comes."

Delano shrunk back unintentionally at the thought of someone coming for him. But the real reason why he asked was that even with Muroki, he was beginning to doubt how long he can manage staying in the black cave. His nightmares were starting to get to him, but as much as he wanted to avoid them, he was finding it harder and harder to stay awake. "Why can't morning already be here?" he asked bitterly, "can't they tell that I had enough?" He tried crawling under Muroki, thinking that he might feel better that way.

Muroki sighed at his brother's question, "I don't know Delano..." it wasn't the truth entirely, because to Muroki it seemed like the lions who were responsible for keeping Delano imprisoned knew more than well that he has had enough of being in this horrible place. But as far as Muroki knew, they didn't care about things like this, which only made Muroki want to get his brother out of this place even sooner.

Delano leaned against Muroki, getting comforted by the warmth of his brother and knowing that he wasn't alone. A few times, his eyes closed on their own, but he forced them open each time. "I'm glad you're here," he told Muroki, trying to do something that will help him stay up. "you being here... I don't think I would have lasted this long without you."

Muroki was able to notice how tired his brother was by the way he was breathing. It wasn't surprising considering that Delano experienced nightmares every time he fell asleep though. "Why don't you simply fall asleep?" Delano was going to need all the rest he could get until tomorrow. "Instead of thinking of all the bad things that are happening right now, just remember that I'm here with you."
