Delano was equally surprised when he managed to get past the guards again. But because it was night time, something he didn't know, most of the corridors were now just as dark as the cave he just left. And now, he didn't know where to go, so he simply continued running until he hit a wall again, collapsing again as his body couldn't take the beating the run was doing to him.

Struggling to get up, Delano heard the guards running up to him. He turned himself around, realizing that he wasn't able to run away from them. So he was going to fight.

The guards caught up with Delano but kept their distance. "Listen to me, don't do anything stupid. Come with us calmly and we won't have to hurt you." he didn't want to end up having to kill an innocent lion, but looking at Delano he realized that they might not have a choice as the result of self defense.

Delano backed up against the wall, feeling afraid. "No..." he uttered quietly, "no, no... don't you come closer!" He was trapped, and was afraid for his life. He should have listened to the guards, and done as they told, but after being trapped in the cave, he wasn't thinking clearly.

So when he heard one of the guards approach him, Delano lashed out, swinging a clawed paw outwards, hitting him. Delano hesitated, realizing what he had done, and got into a defensive stance. He would certainly lose, but he didn't know what else to do.

The other guard then decided that this was enough. Not only was his friend putting them at risk of getting arrested by pitying the prisoner and not following the orders to execute on the spot but he was also not stopping the prisoner from making a racket, thus increasing the risk of them getting accused as well should any other lion notice this. He approached Delano, and when another swipe came he blocked it with his own paw, before gripping Delano's paw and twisting it behind Delano's back. He forced Delano down and used his free paw covered his mouth so to stop him from making more noise.

Delano screamed in pain when his paw was forced against his back, but with his mouth covered, it only came out as a low muffled moan. Certain that he was going to be killed, he struggled against his guards, trying to get free. But with a guard forcing him down, Delano wasn't strong enough to do much.

Trying to break free, Delano bit down hard on the paw that was covering his mouth and felt the grip on him lessen. Taking the opportunity, he scampered back up to his feet, ignoring the pain one of his limbs were now in.

The guard let out a painful scream when Delano bit down on his paw, forcing him to lessen his grip. He cursed silently when he heard noise and confused talking from deeper down the tunnel. Delano was already out of sight, and now he the two guards were going to get it. The only thing they could do was run, since they will be now accused of treason anyway. His friend also knew that this was time for them to run as fast as they could. While the guard's paw hurt terribly, he was trained to ignore pain.

Delano ran as fast as he could, the guards hot on his heels. He didn't know where he was going, only that he was running away. But when he reached an intersection, he stopped, not knowing where to go. This only gave the guards the opportunity they needed to slam into him, sending him crashing into the ground.

He tried to get up again, but before he could move, one of the guards grabbed one of his legs and bit down hard. He screamed in pain again as he felt the bone shatter as the guards made sure that he wouldn't be able to run again.

Unable to run, Delano swung widely with his paws, trying to keep the guards back, but he was overwhelmed and they again subdued him.

The two guards knew that the other lions at the police will want them to kill Delano for trying to escape. The only way they could try and avoid that was making all the other lions see that Delano wouldn't be able to run anywhere any time soon, despite how much they hated it. With that 'insurance', they carried Delano back all the way towards the prison area and placed him down inside, not wanting to cause his leg any more pain by simply throwing him in like they would with most prisoners.

Delano felt himself get carried back into the cave and placed inside. Right away, he tried to get up again and run, but wasn't able to. For all the effort he put into trying to get up, he was rewarded with a fresh wave of pain through his leg and he collapsed again.

This time, he didn't move any more from where he fell, and slowly gave into unconsciousness. The last thing he saw before falling into the blackness was once again Lina's face as he killed her in his dreams.

The next morning Muroki woke up feeling more confident than ever before now that he knew that they had a big chance of finally getting Delano out of that horrible place. He looked at Umeme who was still sleeping close to him and a soft smile crossed his face. He loved her more than anything else in the world, he'll do anything to keep her safe and happy. Now he had to wait until Moto woke up so that they could go over to the police tunnels again, he wanted to make sure that his brother was okay.
