It's so much easier to just think in black and white... It's always either "humanity is awesome" or "humanity sucks". Things however aren't as simple as they seem...

Man has been on the earth for at least hundreds of thousands of years. There's a rather low chance us becoming extinct anytime soon, especially considering the fact that we're thriving better today than any other species we know of, except maybe the cockroach.
