Delano grinned slightly at Muroki's answer, but it was not a cheerful smile. The two of them stayed inside the cave in silence for some time, and Delano's mind began to wander back to the nightmares he had. They scared him how in his dreams, everyone he ever knew accused him and demanded that he face the consequences. Even their parents.

"Muroki?" He asked quietly, "If mom and dad were still alive... What would they think of this? What would they do?"

Muroki accepted the short silence to try to think of some other way to get Delano out should Moto's plan fail, but he was unable to come with anything. He looked at his brother upon hearing him say his name, and he answered the question right away and with confidence noticeable in his tone. "They would never believe you did such a thing." he said, knowing that it would take everything in the world to convince their parents that their son was a traitor. "They would probably refuse to even hear it." Now that he was thinking about it, their father would have already given Delano a good slap to the face if he heard Delano say that he was guilty like Delano said just before, even if it was just the result of the loneliness and slowly growing madness.

Delano relaxed a little when he heard Muroki's answer. But the comfort was only small. "Because if I die... if you can't get me out... I'll see mom and dad again, right?" He tensed at the though, afraid of being killed. "...And they won't be mad at me, will they?"

In his disillusioned state, the though of seeing his parents again did not seem like such a bad idea to Delano. He feared the blackness more than dying now, something he didn't tell Muroki yet. "I miss them. I want to see mom and dad again..." Delano whispered, his voice full of longing.

Muroki smiled somehow. "No, they won't be mad at all." he said, feeling more than confident in what he was saying. "I know that they won't." there was still the problem of actually getting Delano out, and Muroki was really hoping that Moto's plan would accomplish something, even the smallest thing. "You will see mom and dad again, and you will. We both will. But not any time soon, not because of something like this." he would never be able to forgive himself if he allowed Delano to die in this place.

Delano clung onto Muroki tightly. "But you said that you will get me out in two more days..." he whispered. For that matter, he couldn't figure out if that was the day before when Muroki said it, this day, or if he was imagining the whole thing. "I... I don't think I'll be able to handle staying here for that long..." He felt all the calm that he got from seeing Muroki again weaken as he imagined staying in the dark cave for another eternity.

Muroki sighed, "I can't possibly understand what it feels like to be here, and I would probably be just the way you are if not worse should it have been me here instead of you... But you have to stay strong, you have to try, at least for Lina..." Lina would obviously take it far worse than Muroki would if they failed to prove Delano's innocence. Muroki didn't even want to think about what will happen to her if they failed. "Please... promise me that you'll try."

Delano began whimpering again as Muroki answered his question. "But I can't..." he tried arguing, but Muroki simply ignored his pleas. Not seeing any other option, Delano finally relented and nodded. "Alright... I'll try..." he whispered, "I'll..." He tried to say that he would promise, but couldn't force it out.

Muroki of course was not ready to hear no for an answer. "Not for me, for Lina." he was somewhat relieve to hear Delano say that he'll try, even if Delano did sound like anything but confident at the moment. He suddenly wondered what time it was. Because of the darkness, it was impossible for him to know how much time had passed since he came in the morning.

Again, Delano nodded slightly. But he felt like what he was telling Muroki was all an act, and he really didn't know how well he would last for the next two days. He again started feeling drowsy, but was afraid to go to sleep again. He didn't want to experience another nightmare, and he didn't want Muroki to see exactly how bad it was.

Muroki's mind again went back to what time it might be now. Whether it was still morning, or afternoon or evening he had no idea, but either way he knew that the others back home were probably waiting for him to come back. There was the part of them wanting to see him in order to hear that Delano was alright, but there was also the part of them wanting to see him come back with Delano at his side. If he went back, he'll disappoint them as a result of not bringing Delano back, but the longer he stayed the more worried they would be. Either way, there would be some disappointment.
