Simba nodded. "Yes, I am angry. I'm just trying to stay calm so that I don't frighten you. Now, I am setting a new rule. Until you are old enough, you will not go out of sight of Pride Rock when you are alone," he said.

[Queen Elsa]

"Okay." Kiara said. "And I'm strong enough to not be frightened!" she snapped, then realized what she had done. "Sorry."

Simba nodded. "I hope you realize why I'm doing this. I want you to be safe," he said.

[Queen Elsa]

Kiara nodded in understanding. She walked up Pride Rock and looked around, seeing where she could and couldn't go now. "Daddy, if I meet any strangers, what do I do?" she asked.

Simba looked at her. "Simple. Come back to Pride Rock and tell me, your mother or one of the lionesses. Do not speak to the stranger," he said.

[Queen Elsa]

"Yes, daddy." Kiara said. She then looked out in the open space. "Dad, why do all the wild animals we eat have to be killed? Can't they just live, and we eat grass or something?"

Simba smiled. "It's simple. Our bodies aren't designed to eat only grass," he said.

[Queen Elsa]

"But don't the other animals feel sad when they find out we killed someone of their family?" Kiara asked. She didn't understand the way of life yet. She knew that the lions had a special name for it, but she couldn't think of it.

Simba looked out of the den. "If we didn't kill some of them, the lands would be overgrazed and there would be no more grass left. The herds would leave and we would then die," he said.

[Queen Elsa]

"Oh." Kiara said. "What's this cycle called?"
