Chaka still waited even though his father was done, although his mother did tilt her head towards the carcass after a while. Cautiously, he approached it and began eating some of the leg left over. Gracie looked at Shani and smiled,
"Go on honey, eat, you need it".

Shani also took her time with approaching the nearly devoured impala, even after her mother gave her the signal that it was alright. She began eating whatever was left of it, looking at her mother after a few bites, "What about you mom?"

Even though Gracie was extremely hungry, she just smiled and nodded,
"I'm fine honey...you and Chaka eat it all up ok?". She lay down, and put her head in her arms, her cubs health was more important than hers.

Shani slowly nodded at her mother and then turned her attention back towards the carcass as she continued to eat. The cub was just too confused at the moment to think about what was happening in her life. Was this what her life would be like from now on? Barely doing anything and barely eating not to mention leaving her mother with no food?

Chaka had eaten only a little, and was still hungry. He noticed his sister had more on her side of the carcass, but as much as he wanted to eat some, he didn't. He had eaten all on his side, and she hadn't finished yet. Gracie noticed the lack in food, and knew she would be pushing her luck to ask Roark to hunt as well. So, she said nothing, and waited for her cubs to finish so they could have some milk before going to sleep.

Shani was soon also done with her side on the carcass, and was still hungry. Roark haven't left even the small amount it would require to dismiss the little cubs of their hunger. Sighing, the cub slowly walked over to her mother, trying to figure out whether they've done anything to deserve any of this.

A few moments passed and Gracie had finished feeding the cubs something extra from her own resources. Looking outside, she noticed the sun had finally set. Chaka was immediately tired after having his mother's milk, a mother's milk had that effect on cubs. He yawned and Gracie picked him up and placed him in the driest corner of the cave. She did the same for Shani.

"Good night little guy", she said, giving him a lick on the cheek as he fell asleep rather quickly. "Good night honey", she said to Shani and also gave her a lick on the cheek. "Keep you're head up ok? Things will be ok in the end", she said a little quieter.

Shani smiled sleepily at her mother as she licked her. There was just something on her mother's tone that always managed to cheer her up somehow. Soon enough, the female cub also fell asleep, cuddled up against her brother.

Once Gracie was certain both cubs were asleep, she walked away and lay down in the opposite end of the cave. She was tired after hunting and not getting any food in return. She hoped Roark wouldn't disturb her now, though the optimistic thought wouldn't last for long.

Roark noticed that the cubs were asleep and grinned slyly, getting up and walking over to Gracie. "I guess you know what I want now." he never really cared about what did the lioness have to say. She knew him well enough so to know to not get on his nerves, and getting him mad wasn't difficult at all.
