I caved in and saw this in the cinema, twice haha! Seems like the numbers are going to be as impressive here in the UK as they were in the USA, because I saw it once with 3 family members and some other people, and again with four other friends. Seems like the nostalgia factor is what people are looking for when they watch it.
Anyway, the film there is not really much to say about, it is the film we know and love in 3D. And the 3D itself coming from someone who has seen a good number of 3D movies. I said it before the film even came out, and it turned out to be true so I will say it again, the 3D is not about throwing things out the screen, it is about depth of vision and things appearing to be further in the screen than others.
If you have played a 3DS or seen anything in stereoscopic 3D before, you will know what to expect. It is really only debris and stuff that really comes out the screen, or obvious 3D shots where things are close to the camera on purpose. Which TLK being created as a 2D movie, does not have much of. But the effect is still a nice addition.
So is it worth getting a 3DTV just for TLK 3D? No. But if you would be using it for other things as well, then sure.
