New changes that are going to happen

There are a lot of un needed topics that I've noticed, and this new system sounds great. After all it is a TLK forum, so it should generally be about TLK.

Feedback time. Oh boy. Because I cant multiquote, I am going to write my responses in italics and red in one quote below, mkay.

^This is okay, however it is nice to have the CHOICE of talking in TLK thread when I want to, not when the staff want me to.

OK first off Role Play and Fanfiction groups are going to be made soon and 2 amazing people have been picked to lead them. For now im not going to tell you who but we are confident they will bring life back to those areas of MLK

Now onto the hard stuff, the parts you guys most likely will not be pleased about but it was agreed on:

1. The arcade is going - There are so many un-needed game topics in there it just seems like a ton of spam. We are keeping a few of the best games though and moving them to the den but in general its just all going

Fair enough, I can live without counting to 21 before a mod posts.

2. Den cleaning - We are seriously going to sort it out it is so full of topics that just are not needed ever. Like when topics are made for.. idk exmaple 'look at the new toy i got my cat'.... why create a topic on that its not needed. Something like that can be posted in a general discussion thread it does not need a full topic

Now things get a little less pleasant. Again, please remember that for every phony thread in there, there are a ton of good ones. Like the MLK member love thread, or the Pony is magic thread, which bring together fans of certain bands, movies etc. YES we all have TLK as a common interest, but how do we know about our music interests etc, the den is a great place to make friends.

3. Smarty pants for is also going - This area has been the cause of so much drama seriously it needs to go. Just like the arcade some topics will be spared and moved to world issues (which will be getting a rename)

Fair enough, some of the threads sure, as long as we keep the Coke V Pepsi debate, that's the most important discussion one can ever partake in.

4. Following on from 3 - As just a general rule, no more topics on discussing religion or politics.. all it causes is drama so never again to be honest

Yep, we tried it, it didn't work because people here can not handle the views of another, I agree there.

5. Rule enforcing - We feel alot of the members are forgetting some of the rules here in regards to topic making and how 'your opinions' are worded so the staff are gonna be a bit harsher sorry to say. Same with topics. Once we have cleaned up if you start posting needless announcements, not needed games or political/religious threads. We will just step in to lock/delete them. You wont get punished for it (unless you start spamming)

Not sure how I feel about being threatened by the staff like that, but whatever. I follow the rules any way (I mean I am no worse than the people I see swearing on here all the time.)


6. General restriction - We have noticed that pretty much all new members are just making a bee line for the den/arcade and general OT areas of the forum. So sorry but a restriction is going to be put down. Until members have been on the forum for a month and have made a post count of 100 there will be no access to the den/arcade


Again I can see where the staff are coming from, but execution needs work. The reason why people flock to OT area is to get some common ground, and then post in other areas already knowing the other members. At least that is what I did when I joined. Its a bit awkward just like "Soooo ummm yeah, how about that TLK2?" When I could instead say "Ohai Blake, what did you think of TLK2?" already knowing him, does that make sense? =)

This is going to happen everyone from Moka to Noah and NEStalgiafox agreed its the way forward to make MLK better for the future. This won't happen all at once it will be a slow process but we will get there

Don't worry too much, Flip. We'll do our best to make sure everything is fair and that people can have a great time. Whether they're chatting about TLK or otherwise.

I do understand concerns in some areas, so we'll just have to be careful. If something doesn't work out, we'll fix it. Besides, this isn't all happening one day.

Not in one day, but eventually it will be in place if I am understanding the OP correctly.
Nonetheless if you are telling me that those potential issues have been taken into account already, or will be fixed if they do occur then I am pretty happy with this ^^.

I agree here as well. I missed the days when TLK was discussed a lot more, since this is how the forum even GOT its name in the first place, and TLK was the reason why all of us came here. It did feel like it was dying and just became a social area. As far as the smarty pants going, I'm don't really care because I never even dicussed in there once. Anyways, let's see how it will turn out to be.

Augh thank God the Arcade is being gotten rid of. It was a really annoying section.
