~~ Chapter 1 ~~
As the night sky descended over the snowy lands, the shrill sound of a wolf howling could be heard. For weeks now, the lands have been taken over by a pack of wolves, the Damu Pack. Much like there name, where ever they go, bloodshed follows. However, tonight, that howl didn't belong to one of their kind.
When they first arrived, the tried to kill every male wolf in the lands, to insure they're success. When I say success, I mean both territorial and with the remaining females. However, some fled, and have hidden. So this is where my story truly starts, with these remaining decent hearted wolves.
Karibu, an elderly wolf, sat in the middle of the semi-circle formation the 6 wolves had made.
"Brothers", he started, voice echoing around the small cave they had made themselves comfortable in, "As we all know, we are here to discuss how to take the lands back". The amber coloured wolf looked around the semi-circle, facing him were young and old wolves, all with the look of uncertainty open their faces. They had all been forced to leave their families, and their mates. They needed a miracle.
The wolves heads suddenly turned in one direction, another male, the 7th, had arrived. He looked exhausted, he panted and stopped for a moment to catch his breath. He bowed his head to Karibu and began talking, somewhat excitedly.
"My brothers, news, important news", the wolves listened eagerly to what he had to say, "Imara of the north and Layla of the south have given birth, to two pups each!". The wolves all exchanged glances and Karibu had seriousness painted across his face,
"And they are not the off-spring of one of the Damu?", he asked the him. The wolf shook his head and the other's around him smiled. Hope filled there eyes.
Karibu smiled and said quietly, "This is...unbelievable". He took a moment to breath and then spoke loudly again, "Are they safe?". The wolf then nodded,
"They have been moved, they have protection".
Karibu pondered to himself,
"We must visit them, if they agree to give they're pups to us, we can train them. They can are the purest of the next generation. They may win us the lands". He stood up and began walking out into the night.
"Come my brother's, we have a long way to travel, let's just hope the Damu do not get they're first". And so, the 7 silhouettes headed out, the moon high above them.

~~Chapter 2~~
“Rowark, get off my tail!”, cried an angry little wolf pup by the name of Luna. Their mother sighed,
“Rowark, don’t be mean”. Luna huffed and pulled her tail away from her older litter brother and he smiled nastily at her and then replying to his mother cheekily,
“Mom, it’s not my fault it’s too long and I just happen to step on it!”. Luna walked over to her other brother, the oldest in the litter. The pup, Nero, was looking over the horizon. She sat next to him, nudging his shoulder. He snapped out of his trance, looked at her, then to his mother,
“Mom, when will we meet our Dad?”, he asked. Layla frowned, and bowed her head.
“Nero, I told you earlier this morning...I don’t know, your father had to run away”.
She thought to herself for a moment, and prayed her mate was safe, he was a rouge wolf after all. If the Damu Pack found out she had mated with a wolf that was not one of their members, they’d kill her, the pups and search out her mate and kill him as well.
A female wolf appeared from behind the bushes that surround the little clearing where the family was stationed. She approached Layla and bowed her head slightly,
“Ma’am, we have news from afar”. The pups were listening intently, much to Layla’s disapproval.
“Away with you, little rascals”, she smiled at them for a moment, before nodded her head to the side. The pups huffed, especially Nero, who wanted to hear what was happening.
The female, named Safiya, then continued,
“We’ve heard on the wind the howls of the remaining Uzito Pack, they are coming to visit. They need to talk to you about the future of your pups”. Layla gave an anxious look to Safiya, then to her pups who were oblivious to the threat upon them, playing innocently under the morning sun.
“There is another mother, in the same situation as you. Imara, in the northern part of the lands, has also given birth to three pups. One boy and two girls. They are, like your pups, not off-spring of the Damu”, Safiya added.
“Oh really? I met Imara once. Well, it’s nice to know that’s someone’s in the same situation...not that that’s a nice thing...”, she replied wearily.
The mother was nervous, so many things were running through her head. What did the Uzito want? What was going to happen to her? What was going to happen to her pups?
----
“Behave yourselves!”, said an angry Imara to her three, now excited pups. Mionie, was jumping up and down, demanding more information,
“Mom, who are the Uzito Pack? Will I like them?”. Chaka, her older brother was busying himself chewing on a bone from yesterday’s meal, but looked up at his mother,
“Yeah mom, who are the Uzito Pack?”.
Shani, the youngest of the three was sitting next to her mother, but she was smiling as well, wanting to know what was asked. She never strayed to far from her, not since they encountered the Damu Pack for the first time. They left to safety after Imara was questioned about the pup’s father. Imara sat down, knowing the pack wouldn’t be here for at least another few minutes,
“They are the good wolves I told you about a while ago, remember?”. Mionie nodded,
“Is Dad one of them?”. Imara flinched, the pup’s Dad was one of them. However, he hadn’t been seen for a whole full moon, and the Uzito was fearing the worst, that he had been killed. It hadn’t been confirmed, but it’s what everyone thought.
“Yes, you’re father is”. The pups stared at her, eyes wide and full of hope. Mionie spoke quietly but was shaking with excitement,
“We’ll...get....to meet him?”. It pained Imara to shake her head, and the disapointted sigh that arose from the pups pained her even more. She couldn’t tell them he was missing, and thought dead.
Imara turned around, to see the seven forms of the remaining Uzito pack aprroaching. She barked at her pups,
“Sit up”, she said to Chaka who was still gnawing at the bone. “Speak when your spoken too”, she said to Shani. “And you...don’t ask questions”, she said at Mionie, smiling as she did so.

I'd love to read what you all think of it ^_^ It's taken quite a bit of planning heheh. The first chapter's rather short I think, but's it's just the taster really. Second chapter is a little longer, but from now on, each chapter will be at least 1000 words.
