I never noticed this before in all my 17 years of watching the movie. Most likely because the shot is only a second long so I never decided to take a glance at the little details of it! Amazing find, I must say!

I just can't believe that I never noticed blood appearing on his fur. It's so fast and about a millisecond.

You'd be surprised, Maleficent's bleed heavily when Prince Phillip's sword went into her chest, and black blood was shone at the bottom of the cliff where the sword landed. The Black Cauldron had a high amount of blood, when Taran was thrown onto the ground, but most gory scenes from that were removed. Oliver and Company had dogs being shocked to I guess death. Eeyup.
