Hearts of the Abyss (Baya)

The onslaught showed just how much Adila's inner mentality had deteriorated, since her son's banishment. Kawar's purposely isolated life, aside from training and enforcement until her adulthood, kept her from knowing Adila when she was truly well, but it was apparent even now that she was not right in the head. The scarred lioness watched as Sarabi struck down her friend, her hysterics quieting only by force. But the bowing of heads was the only answer Scar received for his order. Quiet acceptance.

Sarabi, she felt a rather distant respect towards. The former queen was well controlled in her actions and words even when they should have wounded her, marking the lioness as strong at the core. Kawar's gaze moved towards the far older lioness when spoken to, although did not question the seasoned lioness' wisdom. But killing was nothing new to her.

"You are privileged, Sarabi. You have known a life of family and what the word truly means. Although I was not born in your times, survival is our only goal now. I do what I must," Kawar stated softly, watching the older lioness as she listened to Zira retreat back to Scar's den with the heir. "You know the only reason for my continued existence."

(OOC: Short, compared to yours, but it is appropriate for the material. ^^)

"Survival means nothing without love and family. Consider reasoning with him. There is definitely wisdom in his words, but alot of hate. I do not think highly of him for his attempted murder on Simba, but I do not think low of him for it either because Scar drove him to it." Sarabi explained silently as she looked to the other lionesses.

"I saw good in him, but very faint. I fear if he were to take control...than it would not change. Your existence is in your hands now, no longer in Scar's. Do not let his words fool you." Sarabi murmured silently, looking back up at Kawar. "Our time is passing, but yours is fresh with your youth." She murmured silently.

"Now, I noticed that my dear sister was standing close to a male. Though she seems to be without much emotion...perhaps I could...manipulate her into falling for him or vice versa. Act like a sort of catalyst. That love will force them to distance themselves from Scar as his enforcers, perhaps. If that were to happen, they would go up against him as I would. Yes. It makes sense." Mrithi murmured as he paced around in the outlander den.

"I-If you wait till I'm a bit older father, I can help!"

"This is politics boy, something you would not understand until you are well my age." Mrithi murmured with disdain at his son Shwari, before turning to his mate. "What do you make of this? I'd like to hear your voice chime in, and not only because its' like music to my ears." He purred.

"And family is nothing if they are to be killed at any moment. If there is not safety, or freedom, what is there?" Kawar queried softly, watching the elder lioness as she spoke. "Mrithi may be more, or he may be less. It depends on his own outlook. But that outlook would effect all of us, just as my father's does."

"You may be right, in some manner ... But as it is, I feel you know more than the rest of the pride. We bear these scars for reasons that are not our own," Kawar added quietly, before turning to walk away. She paused as she passed Chumvi, casting the older lion a sidelong glance, before sighing and moving on to take her post at the foot of Priderock.

Jasisi chuckled, before glancing at her son. "It might not hurt to hear his own ideas, m'dear. He could very well help us if he puts his mind to it. And earning his future title as King would be good for him, I believe," the sandy lioness mused, before turning back to her mate.

"If you can indeed manipulate the emotionally hollow lioness, I do believe you plan could work out quite well. She had far too many scars for her age, it seemed, and that could by why she acts hollow. If Zira is as you say ... then she has probably firmly established what is expected. It is possible that she still has her own wants and needs, but knows better than to act on them. Stirring up a little rebellion might do you some good."

"Yes indeed it would. Perhaps I should, give her a little push, hm?" Mrithi asked Jasisi before looking to the sky. "Though it would prove to be a difficult task...I would need contact with both that male and her...Constant...contact...." Mrithi said as he tapped his chin. An eyebrow raised as he looked to his son who was laying on his back and pawing at some maggots. He then looked at his mate and smirked.

"What do you say on sending the boy over there a few times to stir things up? Sure his safety would be at risk, but if he should succeed..." Mrithi suggested. He knew it was a twisted idea, but he needed to throw it out there. He felt like the boy was just taking up food and time anyway, so he might as well be useful too.

[Short one, sorry. :C]

Jasisi sat after a moment, pondering her mate's suggestion. It was a gamble, to be sure. "Shwari, what do you know you can do? We'll base our plan of action on that, if you still want to infiltrate their pitiable pride." The sandy lioness wasn't against considering it, but she did at least want to ensure their son's survival the best she could.

She glanced back at her mate after a moment, considering. "Hmm ... A suggestion. Your sister may not have any obvious physical weaknesses, but ... there is always the possibility that she could already fancy the male she was with. She was standing quite close to him, if you noticed. A little nudge in the right direction, for the pair, might be enough to garner you a powerful fighting force if they owe it to you."

(OOC: Sorry, ran out of time for the night. *Huggle*)

"I can...sneak around I guess. B-But I'd prefer to fight..." Shwari replied with a grin towards his mother. Mrithi rolled his eyes.

"There goes THAT plan." Mrithi added, but then he listened to what his mate had to say. A smirk spread on his muzzle now as he gave his mate a loving nuzzle.

"I got the best of the pick, haven't I? Such a bright lioness you are." Mrithi murmured, giving her forehead a tender lick. "We will manipulate her already obvious admiration for him. I will convince her to manifest her feelings, but in a secret way. We'll find her somewhere she can go with them. By the time their feelings are stronger, they won't be afraid to resist Scar. Then and only then will he fall, and those two will hopefully be mauled to death by the hyenas for it..." Mrithi began piecing the plan together.

Jasisi shook her head when her son spoke his preference, twitching an ear. "Your claws are not always the answer, Shwari. Sometimes you have to use your head more than your strength."

A small purr rumbled from her throat at his affectionate gesture, brushing her head against his thick mane. "There is always the risk in being close enough to manipulate their emotions, but in the end, it will be well worth the effort if it proves successful. Although I must admit, seeing the King's pitiful mate fall sounds like a bit of a treat. She acts like such a dog. It's rather sad, even," Jasisi mused, swishing her brownish-red tail tuft with a shrug.

"Of course. Not all can be as dignified and beautiful as you my dear." Mrithi responded as he continued nuzzling her.

"Should I leave you two alone? Really should I?" Shwari asked with a look of disguist. Mrithi rolled his eyes at his son's chiming in.

"If you so wish, boy. Be useful and get us some smaller kill." Mrithi murmured silently.
