The Tale of King Moto the Mighty (For TheWhistlerify)

Lumo watched her carefully, this was the first time a lioness who had been with either Damoja or Kumo had not run away when he made himself known. He bent down his head and drank some water. Upon hearing what she said, he stopped and looked up at her.
"That I know is right...I've lost a brother...", he sighed. Thinking what he said might of not made sense, he continued,

"When Damoja first came into me and my brother's lives, we stuck together. Listening to him for our own sakes. Then, as time went on, Kumo decided he liked doing what he did, and so, I lost a brother. He has done things that may not rival what Damoja has done to you, but terrible things. He is dead to me". Lumo didn't know why he just revealed what he felt about his brother, but somehow he knew this was the right time, and lion to do it too.

Laini however listened to the second thing Lumo said when making his presence known and dipped her paw in the waterhole before gently placing it back on the back of her neck. It hurt a little at first but it helped sooth the pain after a few moments. She really did find what Lumo said confusing, having seen Kumo with her own eyes and having been immediately able to tell that they were brothers. Maybe Lumo and Kumo had a 3rd sibling? A one Damoja killed in order to force them to help him? No, that made no sense. Kumo actually seemed like he enjoyed what he was doing unlike Lumo who looked quite restless through the entire day.

As Lumo went ahead and explained, she sat there, looking at him and listening to what he was saying with interest. It all made Damoja seem even worse to her, not that until now he was acting like an angel or something. This whole thing was confusing. The first thing she felt when she realized that he and Kumo were helping Damoja was pure hatred. But the way his expression looked like and the way he talked connected with how restless he always looked and she realized that Lumo was actually nice. "I'm... Sorry to hear." at least that was some sort of comfort.

Lumo continued to drink while waiting for some sort of reply, he was happy that Laini had listened to him about the bites on her neck. When heard her reply, he smiled slightly. After all these months under Damoja's orders, being constantly beaten, he had heard friendly words from someone who he'd thought would never talk to him.

"Don't be...I'm sorry he did this to you. I don't why I just stand up to him, maybe it's just the pain I know that'll come...", he replied. He shook his head for a moment and then began walking back to the main den,
"You coming?".

Laini did the same thing to her bite marks a few more times and then stopped, listening to what Lumo was saying and again with interest. She quickly realized that what he was saying could also be told about her and probably also about Tulivu, she wasn't blaming the queen though. If Damoja was not bigger than her and not that cruel maybe she or Tulivu would have stood up to him and this entire thing wouldn't have happened. Laini of course seemed to hesitate when Lumo asked her whether she was going to go back to the den. She obviously didn't want to be near Damoja again but looking up at the sky she noticed that the sun was setting. Damoja would want her back soon and unless she wanted to get in more trouble she had no choice but to go back. "Yeah, I'm coming." she got up and, to her surprise, felt like walking next to Lumo. She didn't though, for if Damoja saw them that close to each other he might lose his temper with both of them, so it would be best if she kept her distance.

Lumo, for a moment, didn't understand why she wasn't walking beside him. Two thoughts occurred to him, 1, she didn't trust him yet. Which was perfectly understandable. Or 2, she was thinking the same thing he was, that Damoja would be furious if he saw him talking to the lioness. He continued procceding to the main den, looking behind him once to check on Laini.

As she walked behind him, Laini stared down at her paws like she did on her way to the waterhole. The reason to that of course, was the fact that she was going to see Damoja now. She ended up looking forward and checking on what Lumo was doing at the same moment he looked around at her. At first she just stared at him, but after a few moments she gave him a slight smile. When the den came into sight, Laini walked a bit slower than Lumo and looked down at her paws again, only looking forward every once in a while in the corner of her eyes. Damoja of course was waiting by the entrance, which caused Laini to gulp and immediately grow nervous.

Red eyes glanced between the two figures, Damoja growled slightly. He approached Lumo and looked down on the young lion,
"You can sleep inside". Lumo's eyes lit up, usually, Damoja would not allow him or his brother inside. Damoja noticed the change of expression and laughed,
"Not because I want you too you stupid boy, because I want you to be healthy, in case I need you for a job".

The younger lion sighed and began to walk inside, but was swept off his feet with a paw. A paw swung down onto his head and he yelped in pain.
"What do you say?", Damoja asked him, snarling loudly.
"T-Thanks for l-letting me s-s-sleep inside sir", Lumo replied, shaking slightly in fear of another blow to the head. Damoja's lips curled into a smirk as he let the lion up. He then turned his attentions to Laini. "Come here girl...or do you want to make you come over here", he growled lowly.

Laini tried to hide her nervousness upon approaching Damoja, only becoming more horrified as the talk between Lumo and Damoja went on. Lumo did mention that Damoja was forcing him to work for him, but upon seeing the way he beat Lumo up she was speechless. She never knew it was possible, but she was starting to fear Damoja even more. When Damoja spoke to her, she gulped and walked over to him, staring down at her paws the entire time. She was so scared of him right now that she could bare even looking at him.

Tulivu, already inside the den and told to stay there was oblivious to the events taking place outside, she watched Lumo pad in, rubbing the back of his head with his paw. He settled in a corner, away from his brother and nowhere near anyone else.
---
"Mmm...I think you're mine already young one", he whispered in her ear, "I see you are frightened of me...hmm, that isn't a bad thing. Not for me anyway, it means I can get you to do whatever I want, whenever I want". He stepped back slightly, and gave her a rough lick across her cheek, and a paw traced her delicate ears. "Look at me".

Laini felt herself motionless when Damoja began talking to her. The words he was saying were horrifying to her, not to mention that his very voice was scary for her. A shiver went back her spine at the way he licked her and traced his paw on her ears. It took her a few moments to get herself to move, but she went ahead and looked at him, not bothering to hide her fear because it was an impossible thing to do. At least now she was not getting on his nerves, so there was no reason for him to hurt her again.
