Ophelia looked at her fawn and nodded, "Oh, you mean that? Don't worry, I had a little one on one with that pest." if he had even the smallest brain he would never touch her fawn again.

Nello shook his head, "There's more than just him. I promise to protect you and your fawn."

Ophelia said, "That's very strange of you but I can take care of myself." her mate chuckled and said, "Believe me, she's more than capable of protecting herself."

Nello shook his head, 'You don't understand! Can I tell you the 'more' I mentioned?"

Ophelia felt her fawn stir even though he was not cuddled up against her but his father and even though she wasn't even looking at him, "You can try without raising your voice."

Nello sighed, "I doubt your fawn will be able to sleep anyway now..." He then said curiously, "Are you sure that is your only fawn?"

Ophelia said, "I think I would have noticed if I had more than one."

Nello only nodded and said nothing else, "Maybe you're right." He then said, "There is more forces at work than just that annoying deer you know?"
