Delano shook his head. "I know they can't give up," he told Muroki, "but if they had to do this... They shouldn't have to do this. Everything was supposed to be fine! But it's not! They're not doing their jobs!.." He was fast losing his temper, so he forced himself to quiet down, and leaned against Lina, breathing heavily. "I just want things to quiet down, that's all." he muttered eventually. "Not have to worry about such things..."

Lina nuzzled Delano gently, trying to calm him down. "I know Delano... But even though we have no choice but to be here most of the time, we're safe here and that's what matters." she herself was having trouble staying calm about this whole thing, and Delano's beaviour was making it harder for her. She couldn't blame him though. "At least we're together." she admitted, nuzzling the lion she had grown to truly love and care for in the past few weeks.

With Lina nuzzling him, Delano was able to calm down. "Hey, I'm glad that you're here," he told her, and was about to tell her of his plan, but something stopped him. Closing his mouth, Delano continued to nuzzle Lina. It was better that she wouldn't know about his plan. Not yet. He would only hurt Lina by telling her about it, so he didn't.

"We are together. Forever and always." Delano said, instead.

Lina couldn't help but smile an even bigger smile when Delano said that. She was feeling the exact same way about him. Him being there was probably the main reason to how she manages to stay calm most of the time. And as long as she had him there with her, she hardly cared about anything that should be bothering her. In fact, that last time she was worried was when she saw what happened to Kasi's mother. But unless the universe decided to just shove things like that in her face, she felt fine.

As Delano rested on Lina, he heard someone move behind him, and he turned his head and saw Kasi. His cousin looked better somewhat, but was still obviously dazed. "Hey, how are you feeling?" Delano asked.

Kasi grunted before speaking. "Fine, I guess. I'll be fine. Same with dad. But mom though..." he trailed off. "I was going to have a sibling," he whispered, "now I won't. And I don't know how mom will be. Healer said she'll be fine, but until she gets better, I'm not so certain." He shook his head, and tried to walk outside, but Delano blocked his path.

"Not alone, Kasi. You should understand." Delano said. "And someone will need to look after your parents." He looked at Lina. If they can walk with Kasi outside, then he would gladly do so. But on the other hand, he could also let Muroki go with Umeme, and stay with Lina inside. But Kasi needed fresh air, that much was certain.

Lina wished there was anything she could say to cheer Kasi up, but she couldn't think of anything. What could she say exactly? First Kasi lost his best friend, and then he lost his unborn sibling along with the posibility that his mother might never be able to have cubs again. When Delano looked at her, she understood the message and got up, smiling, "I wouldn't mind. I could use some fresh air as well." she knew that Kasi should be with his parents but she also knew that it would be too depressing for him to sit next to them the entire time since his mother seemed to still be in a lot of pain. Even if the healer did say that she was going to be alright she was still suffering at the moment.

Delano looked back at Lina and smiled. "Alright, I'll go with you." He got up and walked with her outside. "Kasi, you coming?" He called back in. Soon after, Kasi emerged from the darkness at a slow walk. Delano tried to grin at his cousin. "Everything will be fine, Kasi. Just watch." Kasi gave Delano a glare so string, that he backed away slightly.

"How can you say that?" Kasi asked. "How can you be so certain?" Inside the den, his mother was lying inside, barely alive, and Delano was telling him that everything would be fine.

Lina wanted to answer and tell Kasi that he should at least go with a positive attitude, but she knew that she wasn't someone to tell him that everything will be fine. If anyone could understand how he was feeling then Muroki and Delano could. On the bright side his mother was going to make it and his father wasn't hurt aside from a few scratches. It could have turned out much worse.

"Kasi," Delano said softly, "I know things will get better..." He tried searching for the right words to say. "Well, Muroki and I, we've already had it really bad. Our parents died, remember? And I know that I don't want anyone going through that. Not even close through it." He sighed, hoping that what he will say next would help.

"It seems now that just waiting for everything to improve will not work. So I've decided not to sit around anymore," Delano said. "I will make things improve." He looked at Kasi straight into his eyes. "That's how I know."

Kasi stared at his cousin in confusion. "You're going to what? How are you going... what are yo saying?"

Lina, once Delano was done speaking, ended up with the exact same confusion that Kasi did. "What do you mean?" how was he going to make things improve? The police itself didn't even have a clue about anything related to this whole thing, and it didn't seem like they were going to figure anything out soon. So how was Delano hoping to do anything on his own? Also, couldn't that be really dangerous? It didn't take too long for what Delano just said to get her worried. He wasn't planning on doing something crazy hopefully.
