The Outsiders

The Outsiders

Postby TheLionQueen » November 28th, 2011, 2:37 am

At first it looked like a terrible book, my teacher wanted me to read it. I was a little reluctant but I started it and it was just amazing. Then I got switched out of my language arts class to another teacher  She told us we could read a book and do a project on it at the end of the year, and I knew I was going to read the outsiders. It took me about 3 weeks to finish with all my work and another book I had to read. This book just made me think alot. This kid Ponyboy and his friend Johnny they got them selves into some trouble. Johnny and Pony were jumped by another gang called the socials and they almost killed Pony but then Johnny came to the rescue with his switchblade, he killed the social that tried to kill Pony. They were in some troublebut then they saved the lives of a bunch of little kids. Pony and Johnny got hurt in a fire when they tried to save the kids and Johnny was just so hurt, man he litteraly broke his back saving those kids a support beam that held up the building in the fire fell on him, and he ended up dieing. Then his buddy Dallas got really really angry and sad so he robbed a store and tried to kill some cops who in the end shot him down and killed him too. This was a really sad book with alot of hate, and the thing that made it even sadder was Johnny, Ponyboy, Dallas, Darry, Sodapop, Two-Bit, they were all real people. Yea this all really happened. I just couldnt believe it at first. And then, then I noticed, HATE is what killed these young men Johnny was only 16 Dallas was I think 19 Ponyboy was 14 and the kid who Johnny killed was only 17. Gangs and fighting still exist and its not a good thing and I urgue everyone to stay out of it. And don't always think because someone is in a gang,or has greasy hair or has some problems with drugs or smoking or drinking that they're a bad person. That's not the case, everyones got some good deep down and this book really opened alot of eyes at my school and hopefully taught some kids a lesson.

Thanks for reading and reply or pm me if you want somemore information on the book or want to know the author or anything. And remember "Stay Gold"

This is a brilliant book. I read it every night. I even have four copies in my house plus a fifth that I will rent from my library next week :)
