Simba turned and smiled. "You're very smart, Mheetu. Nala went out to the waterhole. I'm about to take Kopa and Uzimo over to meet her. I don't want anyone out there alone at the moment," he said.

"Of course, father. I can never forget that." He turned to Regina. "My thoughts exactly. When do we depart?"

Regina only smiled. "Whenever your mother says we are ready. She is our queen after all," she said, looking at Zira and waiting for a response.

"I'll send out a scout to see when the wedding is. But... Regina, on the outskirts of the Pridelands lies a cave. Ask the two lions who inhabit the cave when the wedding will be. Folle is one of them." Zira grinned. "Good luck to you."

Regina nodded. "As you wish, Zira. I shall leave now," she said as headed for the den exit.

Nala trotted over a hill and slowly walked down towards the watering hole, as she approached a few giraffes stepped back bowing their heads. Nala gave a small smile and she bowed her head in return, the Queen took a long cold drink. Nala's mind wondered in thought as she relaxed by the Pride's watering hole.

Monstro growled softly at Kovu, "When was the last time you trained? Or becoming a Pride lander for those few months soften you up?" he snapped. Revealing his claws Monstro took a few steps around Kovu and then he stepped back to face him, "Show me." he ordered ears flat against his cranium. "Now is no time for weakness.."

Mheetu gave a silent nod to Simba as he heard a rustle in the den, his green eyes looked at the sound. "Sarafina go back to sleep." he growled stepping up to his daughter. He gave her a small lick before nudging her back into their shelter.


"Aww...Dad can't I come along too?" Saffy whined. Looking towards her Uncle Simba, she noticed the new lion, "Whos that?" she asked curiously, poking her head around her father's furry leg.

Mheetu chuckled, "Go back to your mother, Now Saffy." he ordered sternly giving her a look. Watching his small cub give another protest but soon find her way back to her mother, he let out a sigh. "As each day grows she gets more like Vitani." he said grinning.

Simba looked down at his little niece. "His name is Uzimo, Saffy, and he's a guest here. He came here last night," he told her. He looked into her eyes and waited to see what she would say.

At Simba's acknowledgement of Saffy's question she lit up with glee and ran from the den. She had been hiding behind a rock so her father couldn't see her. Walking past her dad she stuck her tongue out at him playfully and stepped up to Uzimo. "Uzimo? That's your name? Where did you come from?" she asked curiously. Her bright green eyes looking at Uzimo closely, she raised her eyebrow at him. "You just popped up in the middle of the night?"

"Sarafina..." Mheetu interrupted. Stepping up over Saffy, he looked down at his daughter with matching green eyes. "I think you bothered Uzimo with enough questions." he added.

Simba chuckled. "It's all right, Mheetu. Cubs will be cubs. Nala, Vitani and I were a lot like that when we were her age, as were you. I can recall at least several times when you did it," he said.

"Father, I..." He stopped himself. "Let's go." Kovu leapt on Monstro, trying to get to his neck.
