Taya continued walking, she never noticed the bushes twitch slightly. Suddenly, from behind came a massive blow to her back, which made her fall to the ground. She tried to call out for help, but a paw was over her muzzle in seconds. She looked up, only to see a huge male lion glaring down at her...

He smirked and tightened his grip around her muzzle,
"Now, I know you are a friend of Vitani's and if you don't lead her down to the open clearing at the waterhole, you will both suffer". Taya nodded, tears in her eyes from the pain of the paw. He got off and stalked away, waiting.

Taya stayed were she was, frightened. She smelt Vitani, she was near. The lioness got up and walked slowly, she would do as the male said, for she didn't want her friend to get hurt.

Vitani continued following Taya's scent, eventually finding her. She smiled and approached her friend, unaware of what has happened just a few minutes ago. "Taya, you know we can't wander around on our own now." well, now she was also there, so neither of them was on her own. "Where were you going? I'll go with you."

Taya gulped as she saw Vitani in sight, she straightened herself up and smiled back the best she could,
"I am sorry...well, no one really wanted to go with me to the waterhole...so I thought I might just nip down there quickly. And of course you can come...".

Vitani grinned, "It's not a matter of whether I can come, I wasn't going to let you wander around on your own, especially not when it's almost dark." she wasn't too worried about seeing her father anywhere because she had Taya by her side.

Taya loosened up,
"Well then, lets go". She smiled for a moment, hoping that the male lion would stay to his word, and not hurt either of them. She began walking again, they weren't far from the clearing of the waterhole.

Vitani smiled, walking alongside as well. "It's a good thing I came, I can also use some water..." soon the waterhole came into sight, but there was no sign of Kali. He was probably hiding so that Vitani won't see him and run off before he has a chance to get close enough to her.

Kopa continued resting in the den, hoping Vitani and Taya would not encounter the threat. Little did he know that it was now about to come.

The two lionesses continued on, until they were at the male lion's chosen spot. Kali was waiting in the grass, until he was closer to Vitani. He was going to persuade her, if that failed, threaten her.
