The missing song in the theater verison.

The missing song in the theater verison.

Oh yes, you know what I'm talking about. :-o It's that song called The Morning Report in the Special edition of The Lion King. Shall we discuss this in a barbaric matter?

I didn't dislike it because it was a bad song, I actually thought it was rather catchy, my only beef was that they changed a perfectly good scene. I know it was in the Broadway musical, but there didn't seem to be a reason to include it. For some reason Disney enjoys adding musical numbers for Special Edition releases of their films. Two other examples are "If I Never Knew You" from Pocahantas and "Human Again" from Beauty and the Beast. I haven't seen these two personally, so I can't vouch if they are good or bad. Still you have to give Disney credit: They knew fans didn't like it, so it was absent from the 2011 release.

I don't hate "Morning Report" either. Like Noah, I found the song rather catchy, and like the animal puns. However, I felt the inclusion of the song added nothing to the storyline, and came off pointless.

...Are you meaning to talk about the fact that "Morning Report" was included as an all new scene in the last DVD and not the Bluray?

....Or are you talking about the fact that they removed "Morning Report" from the Broadway Musical?

In the case of the musical, it was a little odd seeing it without it. I saw it for the second time last February after years & years in between, and while the musical still makes an impact, I missed having a bouncy happy-times Simba/Mufasa scene to show them having some good times.

The tempo & type never did fit with the original animated release, though, and was much better suited to Broadway performance. I'm happy they removed it from the new version of the DVD.

The morning report it's alright, I'd say... But the original scene is rather better IMO, I think it's more funny than zazú singin x)

Actually 'I Never Knew You" was taken away :P

I think The Morning Report is kind of annoying. It's an okay song, but not in the movie.

My only beef with the morning report is that Simba's voice sounds entirely different than in the rest of his cubhood during that song. I can see why they chose not to include it in the films, but I personally didn't mind it that much.

The original scene in the film was way better and I much prefer it.

The musical, I've never seen that, so I can't talk.
I am also a big fan of: Phantom of the Opera, High School Musical, Harry Potter, Disney in general, Days of Our Lives, musicals in general, Dr. Seuss in general and the Grinch.
