Title: Natalie's First Year at Hogwarts (a Harry Potter Fan-Fic)

Note: I apologize about my grammar, I hope you guys like it =) and Natalie's first year starts by the Chamber of Secrets time. (Harry's second year that is)

Chapter One: Receiving the Acceptance Letter and Trip to Diagon Alley.

“Natalie, you have a letter,” Said Alexander’s Scottish/British voice from downstairs. He already knew from where the letter was.

Natalie went downstairs while she was brushing her middle-long brown hair dressed in red and black robes. “From who?” She asked curiously as she finished brushing her hair.

Alexander chuckled, “Open it and then you’ll see,” He said and gave the letter to his daughter.

Natalie took the letter and looked at it; she somehow did recognize it because her brother Drake received it two years back. She opened the letter and she started to read it.

HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY

Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore
(Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorc., Chf. Warlock,
Supreme Mugwump, International Confed. of Wizards)

Dear Miss Natalie Stern,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Once Natalie finished reading it, she nearly flew around from joy, she always wanted to go along Drake, but wasn’t yet old enough.

Alexander watched with a smile and said, “Well, something interesting?” He asked like he didn’t knew about it.

At that moment, before Natalie could answer. Drake came downstairs with a letter of his own, only he had the things he needed for his second year at Hogwarts. He then took a look at Natalie, “Looks like little sister is very surprised.” He gave a little chuckle and sat down in the living room.

Natalie looked at Alexander and gave a nod, “I’m going to Hogwarts this year,” she said happy as she hugged Alexander.

Alexander hugged Natalie back and said, “Oh how wonderful,” He said and chuckled, “Do you remember what I told you two years back?” He started, “Time passes fast very much, if you just forget about it a little…”

Natalie nodded; she did remember what Alexander told her when Drake started his first year. And then took out a little parchment which was folded in the letter. It was the list of things she’ll need this year.

Alexander looked at the time and said, “Well, I guess we better get ready and go to Diagon Alley to get all your things needed this year,”

“All right, dad,” Both Drake and Natalie said and went off to get ready to go to Diagon Alley.

Later after a while, Natalie and Drake went downstairs ready to go to Diagon Alley. So was Alexander ready.

Alexander took out his raven-staff, “All right you both hold on tight,” he said ready to teleport to Diagon Alley.

Natalie and Drake held Alexander by his arm and soon, they all three teleported off to Diagon Alley, the alley was full with witches and wizards, could be seen that most of them were students of Hogwarts.

Alexander moved with Natalie and Drake to a clear spot away from the crowds to get his key from his vault at Gringots, “All right, first we’ll go to Gringots and then we can go and get your stuff for Hogwarts,” He said and started to walk to Gringots bank direction with Natalie and Drake.

On their way they three ran into Lucius Malfoy and his son Draco, a pure blood wizard and a Death Eater. “My, my, isn’t it Alexander Stern, a half-wizard and half-sorcerer,” He said and looked at both Natalie and Drake with his silver eyes.

Natalie really did like him; in fact, she hated Slytherin’s very much.

Alexander sighed, “And isn’t it Mister Malfoy, didn’t think you’ll be around today,” He said.

“Where else then I should be, Stern? I have to buy books and everything else for my Son’s second year,” Lucius said as he placed his hand on Draco’s shoulder.

Draco gave a smirk and a slight glare at Drake and Natalie. He already got into a little fight with Drake and hated each other already since the first year.

“Well, ain’t going to waste your precious time, Mr. Stern, have a nice day…” Lucius said calmly, “Come Draco…” he added as he looked at his son and walked off to Florish and Bolts direction with his son.

Alexander, Natalie and Drake continued walking to Gringots. Feeling, that their day is ruined a bit by running into Lucius.

Natalie looked at Drake and whispered to him, “Who was he, Drake?”

“Lucius Malfoy, one of the Death Eaters and fully the Malfoy family is the richest then ours,” Drake whispered back and kept following Alexander.

Soon they three arrived and Gringots and went inside. There were goblins all around, but it was the safest bank.

Natalie didn’t like Goblins very much; they scared her a bit than Lucius himself.

Drake whispered to Natalie a bit, “Goblins… you surely wouldn’t want one as your enemy sis,” he chuckled while still followed his father.

Natalie nodded and whispered back, “To be honest dear brother, I REALLY wouldn’t want one of them being a bit furious or want one as an enemy,”

Alexander walked to a counter, where a goblin was counting money, “Ahem, excuse me. I’d like to enter my vault,” Alexander said kindly.

The goblin looked at Alexander, “You have a key, sir?”

“Yes,” Alexander replied and placed they key on the counter.

The goblin picked up the key and looked at it, then looked at Alexander, Natalie and Drake, “Follow me…” He said as he went off.

After a long ride down to Alexander’s vault. But after that ride, Natalie nearly threw up a bit because she never has liked rides like that especially when they are fast deep down to the vault. As they three arrived at their vault lead by the goblin, the goblin too out Alexander’s vault key and opened it. The vaults door was very much texturized with a gold “S” and few crystals in it. The goblin began to open the vault with a key; it took five minutes to open because it was secured very much. As it finally opened, there were a lot of galleons and sickles in it, the Stern family counted very much as a rich family behind the Malfoy’s, but still Lucius was somehow jealous of them. Alexander went inside the vault and picked up few sickles and galleons, just enough for both Natalie’s and Drake’s stuff for their school year, and then went outside.

After a while, they all were outside of Gringots bank, Natalie was a bit dizzy still after that trip to the vault.

Alexander took out both Natalie’s and Drake’s list to see what they need for their year and soon first, they started going to Florish and Bolts, there were a lot of people there and holding books written by Gilderoy Lockhart.

Alexander sighed, “Looks like Gilderoy Lockhart is in Diagon Alley…” He said. Alexander never believed in Gilderoy Lockhart’s tales, to him, Lockhart’s tales were nothing but just fairy-tales.

As they three went inside, they heard Lockhart talking about his books and added that he’ll be the new Defence against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts. As well, a boy could be seen right next to him.

Drake, Natalie and Alexander didn’t pay much attention because they were shopping for the books, soon Natalie accidentally ran into a girl with long bushy brown hair similar to Natalie’s only hers wasn’t that bushy as the girls.

“Oh sorry,” Natalie said and lowered down to help the girl picking her books up.

“It’s all right,” The girl replied and took her books, and started to walk off.

Alexander took a little look at Natalie, “Be careful, there are still crowds here because of the ‘Hero’,” he said as he gave a little glare at Lockhart who was signing books. “Anyway, I bought already the books now, so let’s go before something happens,” Alexander added, and he gave Natalie her books, and Drake his books.

Soon they went outside, an hour passed till Alexander, Natalie and Drake finished getting stuff for the school year, but there was still one thing missing from Natalie’s stuff, a wand.

Alexander gave a little look at the Eeylops Owl Emporium, and then at Natalie and Drake, “Be right back you two, stay here, all right?” He said and went off to Eeylops Owl Emporium. Few minutes passed and Alexander returned with a barn owl in a cage for Natalie. “I would never leave my precious daughter without an owl of her own,” He chuckled as he placed the cage next to Natalie.

Natalie was happy very much and hugged Alexander, “Thank-You, daddy,” She said cheerfully. “I really love it,”

Alexander hugged her back and chuckled, “You’re welcome, now, Drake,” he started and looked at Drake, “Stay outside and keep an eye on the books and stuff till me and Natalie will return from Ollivander’s all right?”

Drake gave a nod and watched as both Alexander and Natalie go inside Ollivanders Wand Shop. It was silent and the shelves were full with boxes. And soon, Garrick Ollivander went to the counter.

“Aah, Alexander, how nice to see you again, I remember every wand I’ve sold” Ollivander started, “I remember still your first wand, and it was quite tricky for you to find your wand,” He said and then gave a look at Natalie, “And I assume this little girl is looking for her wand,”

“Yes, you’re right,” Alexander said, and the lowered a bit to Natalie, “Go on, don’t be shy,” he whispered and the got up again. Natalie then nodded and went to the counter.

“Name please?” Ollivander asked.

“Natalie Stern,” She said in a low voice and was worried a bit and watched Ollivander look for a wand.

Ollivander found one wand and gave it to Natalie, “Well, give it a wave,”

Natalie gave a little wave, but it wasn’t the right wand, few boxes flew down from the shelves of the wave. She putted the wand back on the counter a bit scared.

Ollivander took the wand and putted back it in the box, “Hmm,” he took a look and then found another wand, “Try this one, Maple wood, Chimera Scale core, and eleven inches long. Rare, yet powerful,” he gave the wand to Natalie. “Well, how is it?”

Natalie held it and felt like it is the right one for her, “It’s really good actually, sir,” she said as she waved the wand a bit.

Ollivander smiled and then looked at Alexander, “All right then, that will be, ten galleons and nine sickles for the wand,”

Alexander went to the counter and placed the ten galleons and nine sickles on the counter, “Thank-You, Mr. Ollivander,” He said as he went with Natalie outside back to Drake.

Alexander sighed, “Now that was a long day today, well, let’s go back home,” He said and took out his staff, and soon, they all teleported back to the manor with their stuff.

Chapter Two: The Trip to Hogwarts.

Days passed till it came to 1st of September. At the manor Natalie, Alexander and Drake woke up early around 10:40AM because as always Hogwarts Express leaves at 11AM.

"Natalie, Drake, get ready soon, the Hogwarts Express leaves after twenty-minutes!" Alexander gave a shout from downstairs while preparing Natalie's and Drake's stuff.

Natalie and Drake came downstairs already dressed in their Hogwarts robes, so that they wouldn't have to get dressed on the train. "We're ready dad," They both said.

"Good, now take by my arm and we'll be at Kings Cross right now," Alexander said as he gave Natalie her trunk with her Hogwarts stuff, and her owl in the cage, and gave Drake his trunk.

As soon as Natalie and Drake took Alexander by his arm, they soon all appeared at King's Cross and took a cart. Natalie placed her trunk and owl cage on the cart and Drake place his trunk and owl cage on his cart. Soon they went off to find Platform Nine and Three Quarters.

After fifteen minutes they found it in a rush, Alexander sighed, "Go on quickly Drake, me and Natalie will go last together," he said, and soon Drake ran into the wall and disappeared from the sight, then Alexander looked at Natalie, "Come on, together," he said and leaned down a bit to Natalie and together with her ran through the wall and were at Platform Nine and Three Quarters.

The train was about to leave any minute. Alexander quickly led Natalie to the train and gave her a hug. "Send me an owl once you're there, all right?"

"All right, dad," Natalie hugged her father back and walked up on the train and joined her brother in one cabin.

The train started moving, Natalie and Drake looked out the window and waved to Alexander, "Bye, dad!"

"Bye, have a great time at Hogwarts you two," Alexander waved back, once Natalie and Drake couldn't be seen anymore, Alexander gave a sigh, "Just please be safe and don't be a Slytherin…" he said, and went off.

Natalie and Drake sat in their cabin taking a rest, "How long is the trip, Drake?" Natalie asked curiously.

"All day, we'll arrive at night there, but the time will pass quickly," Drake said and rested. But it wasn't a long rest till…

"Well, well, another Stern is joining Hogwarts," A voice came as Draco Malfoy opened Natalie's and Drake's cabin door.

Drake sighed, "Get lost already Malfoy," he said and gave a glare while got up and stood in front of Draco.

"But I just came here to meet the new student," Draco said and pushed Drake aside a bit.

"Then go meet other first years," Drake said a bit with a furious voice.

Natalie watched as they both started up nearly a little fight, but the she spoke out, "I'd suggest you really to leave if you don't want your hair pink," She said and gave a little chuckle.

Draco glared as he ignored Drake, "And how are you going to do that, bushy hair?"

"Like this," Natalie said, and gave a little wave with her wand. Suddenly, Draco's hair colour turned pink that nearly she and Drake died from laughter.

Draco immediately turned his hair colour back to his blond, "You'll pay for that soon!" he said furiously, "See you at Hogwarts, Stern's,"

Drake and Natalie still laughed as they watched Draco walk away.

"Nice one, sis!" Drake said while laughed and then started to calm down.

Natalie still was laughing, "Thanks," she said and soon started to calm down, "Is he really a jerk, or is he just trying to be 'cool'?"

"Meh, I suppose he IS a jerk, after all being as well a young Death Eater," Drake said while watched outside the window.

"Really? Hmm… how do you know a lot about Death Eater's?" Natalie asked curiously.

Drake suddenly shake his head, "Wha? Oh, I just, eh, heard that from some Slytherin's," he replied, "But anyway, let's just wait till we arrive at Hogwarts, all right?"

"… All right…" Natalie said while still didn't believe a bit, but lter on just forgot it and watched the view outside the window.

After an hour, the same brown and bushy haired girl knocked on Natalie's and Drake's cabin door. "Hello, have you two seen a boy with black hair and glasses, and a boy with red hair?" She said.

"Eh, no we haven't," Drake said.

The girl gave a sigh and then gave a look at Natalie, "Oh, haven't I seen you? Back at Florish and Bolts?" she said with a smile.

"I think we have, yes. Sorry still for knocking your books over accidentally," Natalie said.

"It's all right. I'm Hermione Granger, and you?" The girl introduced herself.

"Natalie Stern and he's my brother Drake. Nice to meet you," Natalie said happily.

Soon, they three got into a long talk, all the way to Hogwarts, they three talked about the classes, spells, family, and other stuff, till they soon arrived at Hogwarts, it was night already. Natalie, Drake and everyone else went off the train, not far there stood a giant with a black beard and long hair, it was Hagrid the Keeper of Keys.

"First years this way," Hagrid said and started leading all of the first years.

"See ya at the Gryffindor table or tomorrow, sis," Drake said and followed the third years.

Natalie gave a nod and quickly started to follow the first years.

They soon were all at a lake, and had to sit in little boats. Natalie sat down in a little boat with another first year. As soon as they started to move, they could already see Hogwarts castle, her eyes were amazed by the castle, it was just amazing.

Once they followed Hagrid, after getting off from the boats, they were lead to large oak door. Hagrid gave three knocks on the door, and it soon opened. There stood a tall with long black haired witch in wonderful emerald coloured robes.

"First years, Professor McGonagall," Hagrid said.

"Thank-you Hagrid, I'll take it from here. First years follow me," McGonagall said as she opened the entrance hall, it was very large hall that even a simple muggle house could fit in. Professor McGonagall led the whole crowd into a small chamber and stood up in front of them, and started to speak.

"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall. "The start-of-term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your Houses. The Sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your House will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your House, sleep in your House dormitory, and spend free time in your House common room." She said and continued "The four Houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Each House has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your House points, while any rulebreaking you will lose House points. At the end of the year, the House with the most points is awarded the House cup, a great honor. I hope each of you will be a credit to whichever House becomes yours. The Sorting Ceremony will take place in a few minutes in front of the rest of the school." She finished her speech, and went off.

All of the students were curious and spoke with each other, except Natalie, she was mostly alone when it came to a lot of different people, but she was worried about getting sorted...

Chapter 3: The Sorting Hat

Soon, all of the students, were lead into the Great Hall, by Professor McGonagall, there were floating candles and there were four tables, in front of them could be seen a very long table with the professors, and right in the middle, the Headmaster.

As soon as McGonagall walked up next to a chair with a hat on it, she stopped the students in front of her, "Now, before we will start the Sorting Ceremony, Professor Dumbledore has a few words to say," She said.

Professor Dumbledore got up and the started to speak, "Note to the first years that every student is forbidden to visit the dark forest," he began, "As well, our caretaker, Mr. Filch, asked me to remind you all, that the third floor on, the right hand side is out of bounds, to most who doesn't wish to die in most painful death... Thank-you." He finished and then sat down again.

Professor McGongagall took out a long parchment, "Now, when I will call your names, you must come and I shall place the sorting hat, and you will be sorted into your houses," She said and held the Sorting Hat up.

Natalie at that moment was a bit nervous a lot, hearing the hat shout out the house each student went to.

"Ginny Weasley," Professor McGonagall said.

Ginny went up and sat down on the chair, she was the same age as Natalie, and was a friend since they were little, because the Stern family were great friends with the Weasley's

For the sorting hat it didn't take long till, "AH, another Weasley, I know the PERFECT place for you... Gryffindor!" The hat shouted, and soon, Ginny went off to the Gryffindor table.

"Natalie Stern," Said Professor McGonagall.

Natalie went up and sat down on the chair and the sorting hat was placed on her.

"Hmm... I know the perfect place for you..." the hat said, "But tricky..."

Natalie to herself kept murmuring, "Please, just not Slytherin..."

"Not in Slytherin, aye? Hmm, but you would really gain high rank there, I remember someone who didn't want to be in it as well, instead got into Gryffindor..." The hat whispered. "But if you really don't want it then I shall put you as well in ..." The hat said and paused for a moment, and the yelled out, "GRYFFINDOR!"

Natalie got up and went to the Gryffindor table, she saw every Gryffindor cheering. And then she sat down next to her bother Drake who was quite happy.

"Welcome to the House, Natalie," Drake said.

At the same time a lot of other Gryffindor's welcome Natalie. But Hermione still took a look around and didn't see Harry or Ron and gave a sigh.

Again, the Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore got up and had few more words to say, "I announce, that the feast, begins," he said, once he sat down, a lot of food appeared on everyone's plates.

Natalie was amazed by it, and soon everyone started to eat. Natalie didn't eat that much, just a plate with salad, and a chicken breast.

After the feast, everyone went to their common rooms. Natalie followed Drake and everyone else to the Gryffindor tower, the hallways were large and beautyful. Soon they all arrived at the portrait which needed a password.

"Password?" Said the portrait.

"Wattlebird," said Percy Weasley, who was head-boy.

The portrait soon moved and let all the Gryffindor's to enter. Once Natalie entered, to her, the common room looked like the manors living room only a bit larger.

"Come on sis, sit down, this will be like a new home for us, except that we'll have lessons each day, except Holiday's..." Drake said and sat down on the armchair.

Hermione sat down on the chair with little frown.

Natalie looked at Hermione, "You all right, Hermione?"

Hermione gave a nod, "Yes, I'm all right, thank-you, but, I wonder where Ron and Harry are..."

Ron's name was familiar with Natalie and Drake, but Harry's wasn't. Natalie then said, "Well, I'm sure they're all right, although it is strange that they weren't on the feast or together with everyone..."

Soon, Ron and Harry entered with a frown face, meaning that something has happened.

"Oh, Hello Natalie and Drake..." Ron said, but that didn't still turn his mood up.

"Salute," Natalie and Drake said.

Harry looked at Natalie and shaked her hand, "Hello, nice to meet you, I'm Harry,"

"I'm Natalie, nice to meet you as well," Natalie said with a smile.

Hermione looked at the with a little glare, "Where were you two?" she said, "You both missed the feast and sorting ceremony,"

"Well, actually, it's a long story, but in short words we got detention... can't we just explain tomorrow? I'm tired," Ron said.

"All right," Hermione said. "Anyway, yea, it's pretty late, lets go to sleep," She added and went off to the girls dormitory.

"Night you two," Ron said and went off to sleep, and as well Harry followed.

"Well, night sis," Drake said and went off to sleep as well right after Harry and Ron.

Soon, Natalie went off to sleep as well where her room-mate Ginny was already asleep.

Chapter 4: First Day

It was a wonderful and sunny day at Hogwarts, Natalie just have woke up, and already was with her brother Drake in the Great Hall having breakfast.

"Worried about the first lessons, sis?" Drake asked while read the Daily Prophet.

"Actually, yes, because -" Before Natalie could answer it, she heard a very loud female voice yelling making her jump up a bit. "What the bloody hell was that?"

Drake took a look where Harry, Ron and Hermione sat and then sighed, "Looks like Ron got a howler, don't worry just a yelling letter," Drake said while still read the Daily Prophet.

"Oh, all right," Natalie replied, and took a little glance at the staff table, "Say Drake, who is that professor, right next to Professor Lockhart,"

Drake took a look and said, "Oh, that's just our potions class teacher and head of Slytherin House, Professor Snape,"

Severus Snape took a small glare-like glance at Natalie, he seemed to start hating her, but he really didn't like any of the Gryffindor's, only favoured his house.

Natalie gazed away, she really didn't like Snape now from the first look. As soon as she finished breakfast she went off with the rest of the students for their first lesson, Potions Class.

As soon as the students and Natalie were in the Potions class which was in the dungeons. For Natalie, seeing a lot of pickled animals floating in glass jars all around the walls, just made her sick a bit because of her strong love to animals.

Soon Professor Snape entered the class, and began to speak, "You are here to learn subtle science and exact art of potions making," He said, with more like a cold voice and similar to a whisper, "As there is little foolish wand-waving, many of you will barely believe that this is magic, and I hope I wont have to teach you like a bunch of dunderheads I had to teach," he took a little glancing glare at Natalie who wasn't doing anything, but just paying attention.

Natalie nearly was falling asleep already, but she didn't show that out, the start of the class was a bit boring, but when the time went on a bit, the students had to brew a cure from boils Potion. Natalie was not the best at the potions, but she did try her best.

Professor Snape on the other hand didn't care, he only cared about his own House students, while the other Gryffindors did their best at brewing the potion.

Time passed till the class ended, by which Natalie wads glad that the potions class had finally ended, the students did have a small break now. Natalie went off to see if her brother is somewhere around, and soon did ran into him.

"Oh, Hey, sis," Drake started while holding his Defence Against The Dark Arts book, "How did the potions class went?"

"Honestly, I rather then clean broom-sticks then be there again" Natalie replied, "I can say that so far, this class has been the most boring one,"

Drake laughed a bit, "Well, I doubt your words because I'm back from the Defence Against The Dark Arts class, and it was the most boring to me, because of Professor Lockhart giving a quiz about himself," Drake said with a little boring yawn.

"But I bet there wont be any boring speeches," Natalie said.

"Nah, I doubt that, his heroic speeches are boring the Professor Snape's, if you want we can have a bet," Drake smirked.

Natalie sighed, "On how much?"

"Two sickles,"

"Deal..." Natalie said, and then went off.

Before Natalie went off Drake gave a shout, "Don't forget where's the Defence Against The Dark Arts class, sis!"

Natalie heard Drake, and she still knew where is the classroom. After a while she heard the bell ring and quickly went off to the class.

It was a quite nice room, with a skeleton of a dragon, by Natalie thoughts. She sat right next to Ginny Weasley with whom she has gotten along very well so far this school year.

There from an office came out Gilderoy Lockhart, "Let me now introduce you to your new Defence Against The Dark Arts teacher," He began, "Me, Professor Gilderoy Lockhart," He said giving a shining smile.

Natalie wasn't quite happy about the class, she now knew that the potions class sounded better then this, and she will have to give the two sickles to her brother because of the bet.

Wasn't long till Lockhart stopped at Natalie's and Ginny's table and leaned a bit forward to Natalie, "My my, ain't it the Sorcerer's daughter now, I've heard a lot about your father, but sadly that he ain't anywhere near the same ranks as I am," Gilderoy said and gave a smile at Natalie.

Natalie wasn't quite happy to hear that, she really wanted to cast a spell at Lockhart for those words, she knew her father is a high standing sorcerer in the ranks.

After few minutes everyone received a little quiz, Natalie was confused and didn't understand any of the questions, they all were only about Gilderoy Lockhart and only him, Natalie gave a glance at Ginny and mouted 'What is this now?'. Ginny shrugged and didn't have any clue at all and looked at her parchment with the quiz.

Natalie began to write slowly the answers to the questions which seemed just funny to her, the questions didn't even related to Defence Against The Dark Arts.

As soon as the quiz was over Professor Lockhart picked up everyone's parchments and after reading them he spoke, "Tut, tut, none of you really did remember that my favourite colour is lilliac," he said, and the placed the parchments on the desk, "Now, begun you all, the lessons are over, I'll see you all tomorrow," He said and smiled again.

Natalie was glad that the class ended, she now didn't knew what could be worse, the Potions class or Defence Against The Dark Arts by Gilderoy Lockhart?

They day passed on and on, after the Defence Against The Dark Arts, she had Transfiguration, Charms Class, Herbology, and Care for Magical Creatures.

After the Care for Magical creatures, Natalie had to go to the Owlery to send a letter to her father back home as she promised and then thought that she better avoid Drake now for a bit.

Natalie went off inside the common room after saying the password and sat down at a desk to write her letter. But wasn't long till Drake came inside with Harry, Ron and Hermione who explained what had happened at the Defence Against the Dark Arts class which was just full with chaos from Gilderoy Lockhart, she heard them say that Professor Lockhart has let out a lot of Cornish Pixies in the class room. Natalie was glad nothing like that happened to her during her class.

Drake went away from the Golden Trio a bit and smiled at Natalie, "Well, how did the class go?"

"Eh, fine, thanks," Natalie said.

Drake smiled still, "And how was the Dark Arts class?"

"Erhm! Good! Really not boring or anything..." Natalie replied trying to lie to Drake, but he was too smart for Natalie's lies, and she sighed, "Fine you won the bet," she said and gave Drake two sickles.

Drake chuckled, "I awaited that from you, anyway, what you're doing?"

"Writing a letter to Dad," Natalie replied and started to write again.

"Okay, well, I'll be studying if you don't mind," Drake said and sat down on the arm chair starting to do his homework.

"Why would I mind?" Natalie murmured and wrote the letter still.

After a while, Natalie finished writing her letter, "I'll be back soon, off to the Owlery," she said and the quickly went off.

As soon as she reached the Owlery she found her owl, Shali, who was a nice pretty Barn Owl. She gave a whistle and her owl landed on her shoulder, "To Dad, back home," she whispered and tied the letter to her leg gently. When Natalie finished tying the letter to her owls leg, she let her fly off, Natalie walked to the window place, she watched Shali fly, as well she watched the beautiful view of Hogwarts grounds, she has seen a lot of wonderful views because her father has taken her for a walk around Scotland, of course Hogwarts as well was in Scotland.

Natalie all of sudden hear someone walk in the owlery she quickly turned around, she saw a boy with blue eyes, in Hogwarts school robes, in Gryffindor ones as well, and wit nice brown hair.

"Oh, sorry there, I didn't mean to scare someone," The boy said walking to an Eagle Owl which was his owl apparently. "In fact, I didn't know someone will be here,"

"It's all right," Natalie said, she thought that it would be nice to introduce herself, but hesitated a bit, but then began, "I'm Natalie, by the way, Natalie Stern,"

The boy smiled as he tied his letter to his owl, "Nice to meet you, I'm Ian Mond," He said and let his owl fly off with the letter. "And, I see you're a Gryffindor as well," He said taking a little glance at Natalie's badge she had on her robes.

Natalie looked at her badge then back at Ian, "Indeed, but didn't you knew before, yesterday at the sorting ceremony?"

"Eh, I don't pay that much attention to Sorting Ceremony's," Ian said and took a look at the sun. "And I guess we better get going now, if we don't want to have trouble by being outside of the castle now," He said and started to walk, "If you wish you may walk back with me,"

Natalie smiled, "All right," She said and joined Ian, and soon they both went back to Hogwarts. It wasn't very dark yet, but was still time before dinner starts. Both Natalie and Ian talked with each other on their way back inside the castle, they had a nice long conversation, till they soon reached the Gryffindor tower and went inside after saying the password.

"Well, well, looks like little sister already found someone," Drake's voice began to speak while he sat on the arm-chair.

Natalie moaned, "Come on, Drake, don't start teasing me,"

"Don't worry, I wont," Drake said and shaked hands with Ian, "Drake Stern, Natalie's older brother," He said.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Ian Mond," Ian said.

Soon they all three went into a long talk, after that had dinner in the great hall, and later after that, all three of them and with Hermione as well, who was alone because Harry and Ron were on detention, studied together with Natalie, Ian and Drake.

The end of the day was pretty nice for Natalie.
