Kopa looked into her eyes. "I remember all the stories my father told me about my grandfather. Once, when my parents were cubs, they disobeyed an order and went to the Elephant Graveyard. They were chased by three hyenas, but Grandpa came in and fought all three hyenas at once and scared them off. Mufasa was a mighty lion," he said.

Vitani smiled, "So I've heard many times." she returned the gaze by staring into his blue eyes. "It's a good thing he did that, because otherwise I wouldn't have you here with me..." she nuzzled him once more.

Kopa returned the nuzzle. "You're the most beautiful lioness I've ever seen, Vitani. I don't know if I could ever be with any other lioness," he told her.

Vitani giggled, "Same on this end..." she nuzzled him for a few more moments before resting her head under his chin. Coming there sure was a good idea, for all the worries she carried a few minutes ago were now gone.

Kopa said nothing and nuzzled her. After a few moments, he decided to speak again. "This is the best moment of my life," he said, his voice barely a whisper that only Vitani could hear.

Vitani smiled, purring at the nuzzle. "I'm so glad that we came here... I feel much calmer now." she said, her voice also a whisper.

Meanwhile, Dotty was looking after everything while Kopa and Vitani were away. Nothing was happening so far, but she was still very jumpy.

After a while the stars started coming out. Vitani smiled and looked up at the stars, her head still beneath Kopa's chin. "Remember the first night I've been here in the Pridelands with you a few weeks ago? We lay on our backs on one of the hills and you told me about how you and your father went to look at the stars every once in a while."

Kopa nodded. "I most certainly do. Back then, my father would tell me the stories of all the great kings and queens. Out of all of them, Ahadi and Uru's story is the most like ours," he said.

Vitani looked at Kopa curiously, having heard those two names but having never heard the actual story. "How come?" she never minded learning more about the past though.
