Vitani smiled and followed her mate without saying anything else. Once they were at the top, she sat down next to Kopa and said, "I still remember the first time you brought me here."

Kopa nodded. "As do I. Being with you here now, it's hard to believe that we had to struggle so much to be together," he said to her.

Vitani smiled, "You know, it doesn't really matter what we had to go through. The important thing is that we're together now." she nuzzled him briefly to emphasize her point.

Kopa smiled. "I still remember the day that you decided to abandon your mother and come to me. Remember, we are one," he said.

Vitani smiled, looking into Kopa's eyes, "We are one." she said, repeating what he said. Her mind settled back onto the day where she left the Outlanders. While back then Vitani didn't know whether the Pride Landers would accept her, she knew that she would be sorry if she stayed with the Outlanders without even trying.

Kopa sighed. "I hope I can be a good king. I know my father did his best to prepare me, but I don't know if I'm truly ready," he said, thinking about the current situation.

Vitani said, "I know you can do it. Your father taught you more than well." she gave him a reassuring nuzzle, "And either way, I'll always be here to help you."

Kopa smiled. "You're right. If my father was able to do it after what he went through in his life, so can I, and I never went through something like my father did," he said.

Vitani said, "You didn't, and I hope nobody in our pride will ever go through anything even half as horrible." she doubted she would have been able to keep her sanity if it had been her in Simba's position.
