In real life (and I would say The Lion King universe as well), male lions are just as good at fighting, if not better than females. Hunting and fighting are completely different. When you hunt, the lionesses' job, you get as close as you can to the target unseen before charging for the throat.

Fighting on the other hand you advance boldly and loudly, trying to intimidate the opponent. By the time of first contact, there are no surprises.

So for Nala to know a really good fighting move that seems rather impractical for hunting, for me at least, looks like something she either discovered or was learned solely to get at Simba whenever they pounced on each other.

Imagine Simba learning that Nala uses a move that she only uses against him and nothing else, because he's the only thing that will fall for it.

A really interesting move. I think that the lioness in charge of hunting would've taught Nala this, although she did perfect it at such an early age.
