Should society become secular?

I'm a little immune to it, I hear it all the time. I used to get very angry, these people were actually spiteful towards me. Ha ha, you're going to hell, I will live in bliss. Bite me.

I suppose it's better to be secular than religious, because it just feels like you're forcing religion to everyone. You can practice your faith at home and/or your local church :3 Our country's society is religious, but nobody here really minds. Almost everyone here is a Christian, and the minority doesn't really care. But I suppose that wouldn't be possible in countries like the USA. XD

However, I do believe that not being able to wear religious symbols is a bit extreme... I don't think a little cross necklace would be that bad. x] It's just a way to display your belief.

I would find it very well that they were not allowed to say these injustices such as what schools or the racism of beliefs, but can not wear religious symbols, says Kops, I think, something beyond, I see no sense I'm not dispelling my faith with them or wipe off to others face, just shows pride in being a believer.

I say it's okay because that want to convert others, disturbing others with religion, is something really wrong, religion is the belief itself, not a game where participants team that has won; but I do not think so, you can finish the crime or poverty, they are just things that are not directly caused by religion, I even think about it too much.

The society should be secular, but to some extent, should also be prohibited, these visits from door to door, and any form of harassment or religious denigration.

By the way, I think some feel the same way that atheists when they say the believe in God is some kind of censure, hindrance to being a free thinker ... There are people who are blind from religion, but others do it for science, or anything like that. I respect atheists, have a broader view of it "should" have someone from a religion, but not all we follow that book to extremes, I, for example, I know right and wrong, not I believe that creationism, or many injustices of religion, even I think I have a lot of freedom of thought, and I believe in God ... I think simply should not be generalized as much as many do it.

it is certainly a nice idea, i can see the benefits of it but there is one problem. Islam, Buddhism and a couple other religions (i think) control the way their followers even dress, so its would be very hard to implement. Its even simple fact that say someone who has been devoted to Christianity all their life wearing a necklace having a daily prayer etc will not suddenly just stop doing it they will cause a fuss

I think secularism is a very good thing. In my opinion, a government should by no means be allowed to force its citizens to abide by the tenets of a religion they aren't necessarily (willing) followers of or dissuade them from freely choosing, practicing and/or expressing their beliefs (or lack thereof) so long as they aren't violating the rights of others.

I'm not sure where that came from, unless you're referring to specific countries doing that to people. While I don't think religion or secularism should be forced, I think both should be fully tolerated from whatever source they come from. Promoted or engaged in, sure. Forced, no.

Yes, that's what I was referring to. ^^; Sorry; my post could have been worded a lot better. I definitely agree that both have an important place in society.

I think it should be secular, but I also think that there's nothing wrong with wearing a symbol of your religion. Simply wearing a cross does not make one a Christian, nor does wearing a pentagram make one a Wiccan, or Satanic, or whatever. I wear what I like. I have no religion, but that doesn't stop me from wearing their symbols if I like them. And the people who do have religions should still be allowed to wear their symbols to show that they are of that faith if they so choose.
But religion has no place in the government, and should be kept off of and out of all federal materials and matters. I think it's wrong for say, our money or courthouses to say things like "In God we trust," when not all of us do.
